I doubt the reality of this, or better, I hope this isn't the reality, but I want to ask it you guys.

Some of the loudest voices in the US who like to complain about Castro and the Cuban Revolution are the Cuban emigre population, the loudest of which happen to be the very people who were backing Fulgencio Batista's genuinely dictatorial regime. They were perfectly content to let Cuba remain an agricultural backwater with huge segments of the population suffering in illiteracy, racism and privation. They don't actually give a damn about the Cuban people, they want their sugar and tobacco plantations back, along with their lucrative investments in the Cuban fruit and mining corporations that the revolution nationalized.

Revolutionary Cubans call them gusanos, worms. They're also known as the Miami Mafia. They're utter scumbags. Don't trust anything they say unless you also hear it from a genuinely neutral source.
