The US Media is predictably talking about how Osama was the root cause of all evil and how the USA was totally innocent and Osama just magically assembled followers and did 9/11 because he was an asshole. Nothing about the role of US imperialism in causing resentment the world over, among other things.

But yeah, not at all sad that he died, it just isn't awesome news. As one guy I know summed it up, "Doesn't particularly surprise me. My stance is sort of ambivalent, it won't really change much, or maybe, but doesn't necessarily."

For once, the US did something good, I don't approve of imperialism, but I also despise terrorism just as much.It's just a shame he was used as a pretext to invade Afghanistan and Iraq, and to indirectly bolster the assistance of Israel, and to bolster arguments against Iran, Syria, Yemeni "terrorists," the arming and propping up of various "anti-terror" dictators throughout the world (Mubarak, Ben Ali among others), etc.

Just remember that terrorism doesn't come from nowhere, and the US Government certainly hasn't addressed the reasons why it occurs. Quite the opposite, if anything.
