That stupid fucknut was convinced that there would be no intervention in Libya. He'll be wrong on this too, mark my words.

Once that happens, we will discover that the so-called Tea Party Republicans are deeply split on the war involvements. Suddenly, the whole of the United States will be debating this issue. Barack Obama will find that the centrist position he has been trying to maintain has suddenly moved leftwards. In order to remain a centrist, he too will have to move left.

This will be a major turning-point in U.S. politics. The idea that the troops should come home will become a serious possibility. Some will fume with anger because the United States will thus be exhibiting weakness.

he did kind of say that

There will be no Security Council resolution because Russia and China won’t go along. There will be no NATO resolution because Germany and some others won’t go along. Even Sarkozy’s militant anti-Qaddafi stance is meeting resistance within France.

Kind of? He said those exact fucking words.

The second point missed by Hugo Chavez’s analysis is that there is not going to be any significant military involvement of the western world in Libya. The public statements are all huff and puff, designed to impress local opinion at home. There will be no Security Council resolution because Russia and China won’t go along. There will be no NATO resolution because Germany and some others won’t go along. Even Sarkozy’s militant anti-Qaddafi stance is meeting resistance within France.

Wallerstein lays it on. His views are in harmony with the IMT.

I teach "world history" and Wallerstein is pretty much the gospel right now, as far as organizations like the College Board are concerned. People like Wallerstein, Pomeranz, and William McNeil form the basis of what is mostly taught to kids. It's kind of interesting, because a lot of it has a seemingly "left" bent to it but it leaves any kind of class analysis completely out of the equation.. focuses all on "trade" and "interactions."

I wasn't aware that Wallerstein wrote columns on the internet until recently. The first one I stumbled across was his hilarious prediction that there would be no military intervention in Libya literally ONE DAY before it actually happened.. haha

Oh, Jeez excuse me, I don't seem to remember all the details of all my posts and have them ready at hand in order to embarass others like you do. :o :o :o :o

Still all they want to do is airstrikes. That is horrific enough. But do you think they will send a huge land army????

Really glad to see Khad calling out that "fucknut" Wallerstein. Quasi-"leftists" love this asshole and I have no idea why. ISO party hacks posted that retrospectively embarrassing article on Libya everywhere. He's wrong about almost everything he writes about, which makes you wonder why he still insists on making predictions about a field he clearly knows nothing about. I tore him a new asshole on my blog (http://return2source.wordpress.com/2011/05/08/left-delusions-regarding-libya-syria/) the other day, and I don't say that out of pride because it was so fucking easy a child could do it.

The best advice: Never believe a word this loser says.
