This is one of the leading Republican contender???? This is pure, naked and unadulterated imperialism! Heaven help us if he wins the presidency! He's not even trying to hide his imperialistic policies!
Edit: How can you "keep" something that is not even yours to begin with? It takes the mental gymanstics of the sleazy capitalist thugs like the Donald Trumps of this world to come up with that logic.

His bluntness reeks more of a PR stunt.

The people who elected Bush can elect Trump. God save our souls if he comes into power.

This man isn't truly serious about running. He continually asked for Obama's birth certificate and when Obama found his instead of feeling silly and backing down the man asked "what took so long". He doesn't have an ounce of political tact. He is just running to make reactionary imperialists like Obama look better by comparison .

I kind of like him more than all the other republicans. People like Romney are kind of just nuts. Trump is more of a Schwarzenegger Republican. Politically if he wins he won't be much worse than Obama, especially with the opposition he will most likely gather. I mean look at him, as a capitalist he gave most of his money on the Federal and New York State level to democrats, and only gave to republicans in the south where it would mean more kickbacks for his property projects. His only tie to being republican is the birth certificate thing, a clear manipulation that the idiots fell for. So he will most likely be like Warren Buffet in his political aims, and his possible imperialist ambitions will be balanced out by both democrats (if they are worth two shits anymore) and possibly isolationist republicans though I doubt it.

i really cant imagine him being president.
its a damn good distraction too. "vote dem or trump will be president!"
the CP would be all over that.
EDIT: Interesting analysis MLJ. ill keep that in mind.

Why Won't Donald Trump Release His Karyogram? (http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2011/04/29/why-wont-donald-trump-release-his-karyogram)

During a TV interview earlier this week, Donald Trump remembered how fortunate he was to avoid service in the Vietnam War: "I actually got lucky because I had a very high draft number. I’ll never forget, that was an amazing period of time in my life."
Yeah, um, except it turns out... he forgot. According to Selective Service records obtained by the Smoking Gun (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/celebrity/deferments-helped-trump-dodge-vietnam), Trump requested and received a series of student deferments until, following a physical exam in 1968, he first received a medical deferment (classified 1-Y: "only in time of national emergency"), and later a full 4-F disqualification in 1972.
So Trump lied forgot about his draft deferments, a bit of biographical bullshitting that is damning in itself. But over at HA, Darryl notices something awfully curious (http://horsesass.org/?p=34325) scribbled on Trump's selective services records.

the smoking gun
Prompting Darryl to ask:
Huh? Would that be YXX as in one extra X chromosome? The condition, called Klinefelter syndrome (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001420/), is not uncommon—it occurs in somewhere from 0.1% to 0.2% of males.
A chromosomal disorder of this type could explain both Trump's bizarre behavior and his faulty memory surrounding his selective service records. But of course the only way voters can know for sure is if he releases his medical records including a complete karyogram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karyogram) of his chromosomal pairs. You'd think Trump of all people wouldn't want there to be any confusion over the circumstances of his birth.

I would totally disagree. Schwarzenegger is far more of a human being then Trump could ever be.

Wasn't he one of the many republicans obsessing over Obama's initial reluctance to release his birth certificate?

It makes sense that Trump would donate to Democrats in the North and Republicans in the South - he's simply been donating to the party that holds the most political clout in the region in question. The party with the most clout in a given region is the one most able to get him what he wants in said region. This reflects business sense rather than any ideology on Trump's part.
From what I can tell, it looks like Trump has long held right-leaning populist views for a long time. In his 2000 book The America We Deserve (*rolls eyes*), he endorses single-payer health care (which he has since recanted - he even wants to appeal the Affordable Healthcare Act now); however, he also advocates the repeal of the estate tax, argues that "even legal immigration should be difficult," wants to privatise social security, and so on.
