I liked the whole idea of posting artists from a genre I don't usually listen to (hiphop) so I went with a chillwave (never even heard of this genre before)/left-field hipster pop artist called Toro Y Moi.
I first heard of him through Odd Future. Tyler, the Creator mentioned him alot on twitter and Toro Y Moi did a remix of his song "French!".
I like this sound, it's relaxed and it's kinda experimental in a good way.
Toro Y Moi is the stagename of Chazwick Bundick. While in high school he was in a few indie rockbands before getting into the kind of music he's known for by making a tape called "Sides of Chaz".
After finish university he developed a close musical relation with a similiar musician named Washed Out. He released a few demotapes in 2007 and also did a few EPs indepently in 2009/2010. He has since signed with Carpark records where he released two studioalbums "Causers of this" in 2010 and "Underneath the Pine" in 2011.
