How is this not straight out of Stalinist Russia?

Ask a question at a TOWN HALL MEETING tha alan west does'nt like .... get arrested and thrown in solitary confinement.

Do we live in a democracy? Do we have civil rights? Is there any liberty in the US?

Yeah...damint Gacky...she wasn't executed or send to a Gulag...:cursing:

Who cares what it was...It was fucked up. It doesn't belong in a society to arrest people for asking questions.

Fascists.

I saw this on Hannity last night, and Alan West's excuse was that he "would not be intimidated". And what makes it even more worse is the fact that Alan West is promoting the US Constitution as part of his campaign, yet he and his thugs have just totally shat over the first amendment.

"would not be intimidated".

So that pussy is 'intimidated' by questions that he has'nt pre-screened, what a joke.

I'm not even a "Stalinist." I just hate buzzwords like that.

She was not arrestted for asking a question, charges could have been trespassing (private property, and even though its a public event if you're asked by the host you have to leave, especially if the police agree), failure to obey a police officer (he said leave, she kept arguing instead of shutting up, looking at the ground and walking away), maybe assault since she raised her hand and put her finger in the cop's face.

For real, do cops arrest people just because they can, and they feel the person is undermining their authority even though no serious offense has been comitted? Yes. Is that what happend here? Yes.

But it happens all the time, literally all the time, I see it happen every weekend. lol at calling it "fascist", "stalinist", or anything other than an "asshole on a power trip".

Some bougie lady is mad that she is gonna get dinged with a misdemeanor or two? Wahh wahhh wahhhhh.

While I absolutely agree with most of what you said...I think the fact that she was removed for asking questions is one of the problems as well.

What would you do if a right-wing populist rolled up to a public meeting for your organization and called your speaker out and tried to get people riled up against them?

What did she think would happen? That he would engage in a reasonable discussion? That a crowd full of his supporters would carefully ponder the issues she raised?

So what are Alan West's plans for socialism in one country? (via communism and fascism being the same thing)

Difference is this was a town-hall meeting and not a rally or a public meeting for one particular party. Also, I don't think shouting questions like that is uncommon for this kind of thing.

BTW, I called it stalinist to play off the fact that republicans use that all the time against leftists, saying they use those tactics, whereas this guy, i.e. having staged "town halls" and arresting someone that does'nt follow the line, is doing exactly what they rediculously accuse the left of doing."

Remember the tea-party townhalls? Did anyone get arrested?
