Yeah, I can't say I am a big fan of national socialism, nor do I imagine anyone on this site to be.

I think he meant national as in "country-wide" not national-socialist

Read it like this: "Does anyone have any thoughts about any of the country-wide socialist/communist groups??"

I figured as much, but I couldn't bring myself to overlook such a horribly out of step misuse of that term.

Haha Nazi! Jk jk. Yeah the CP promotes the Democratic Party. I think Sam Webb was quoted as saying "we will support their [dem party] agenda, because we know they suppport ours." (sorry for the lack of a source...) PSL seems to be gaining a lot of support in CA, and I saw quite a few at the Madison Union protests. I guess it Depends on your ideas about how to achieve socialism/communism. The SPUSA is pretty accepting of most schools of thought (plugging my own group of course). If you are more leninist/trot maybe the ISO would be appealing.

I like PSL a lot. Some people don't. It depends on how you view their take on foreign affairs. Also, I think Socialist Alternative is fairly active in New Hampshire. There's an SA member active here who has terrible First World-chauvinist politics but she may not representative of the organization as a whole.

I'm sure I know you from somewhere..Boston teacher's rallies? New England United? STWC? :tt2:

Granite Comrade, which group works best for you of course would depend on your viewpoint. Our politics differ from that of my PSL friend above in that we feel the best way forward is independent working class struggle. We differ from the WW/PSL in that we do not support Third World leaders such as Qaddaffi,Achmnadijad, Assad, Mugabe, or others merely because they oppose the US. We feel this is in the original tradition of Marxism. Of course Gorilla and I can (and probably will) argue until the cows come home, you should research yourself and decide how you feel. The best part of being in an organisation is to learn to be an effective activist. I think SA does a good job of that.
We have good parties as well.

We are in the Trotskyist tradition and are in political solidarity with the Committee for a Worker's International.

We are heavily involved in union activism, teacher's struggles, fighting against cutbacks, and the campaign to save Boston piublic schools from closure among other things. We active in New Hampshire and have Granite State comrades..

Pan Fly Dolce, Mayakovsky, Q , Mike Russell, and other RevLefters are in the CWI as well.

BTW Gorilla, thanks for the opening! If the PSL ever needs anything please don't hesitate to ask, etc., etc.

Whats national bolshevik?

Two related meanings. In a nutshell, first a tendency or loose movement in Germany in the 1920s.They originally came out of the ultra-left KAPD but then also appealed to some rightist intellectuals. They basically believed Germany was a "proletarian nation" and tried to combine nationalism and socialism. To some extant they were a predecessor to fascism but they weren't quite fascists and Hitler didn't like them.

There's a more recent group, the NBP or "nazbols", a movement in Russia originally led by the writer Eduard Limonov. They're ultra-nationalist with elements of Stalinism and socialism. They combine nazi and Soviet symbolism. Limonov's faction has moved more to the left in recent years. They're very weird.Others could probably tell you more.

Well.....I'm still looking and open to ideas.....I've been to many of the websites but to be honest it's a bit overwhelming in the amount of information but a bit underwhelming in the amount of difference between so many of the groups..........

I do, however, want to thank all of you who either took the time or will in the future take the time to offer your ideas and support........
