Does anyone know of a good biography about Rosa?

Paul Frölich's Rosa Luxemburg (just re-released in the US by Haymarket Books) is an excellent biography. It does a very good job of settling her in her time period, and discussing both her activity and her ideas. Highly recommended, and a good entree for a reader to take a more educated look at her writing.

Idk about biographies but I do know there is a movie about her life called Rosa Luxembourg. I think it might've been made in the 80's. I heard it was okay. It probably wont be good as an actual book though.

This book is by far the best option. I second it.

It was made in 1986, and yeah, it is good. Barbara Sukowa actually looks a little like the real Luxemburg in my opinion, plus they got actors to play Liebknecht, Kautsky and Bebel who resembled those individuals, kinda. Gave a nice portrayal of Luxemburg as both a militant who was imprisoned in, like, a dozen seperate institutions over the course of her life, and also someone with her own (often frusterated) personal life outside of politics. Of course, I don't really know much about the real Rosa Luxemburg, so I don't know how much of that was embellished for the film, but still, it was entertaining. Long movie, though.

The SWP are doing A Rebel's Guide to Rosa Luxemburg to be released in the next few weeks.
