From a comparative view, how do the Maoist organizations of today compare to the original Communist Party of China in the years of the revolution and during Mao's reign? Such as, how does China 1949-1976 compare to Nepal during the Prime Ministry of Prachanda?

Also as another little question, is Prachanda held in favorable view by most other Maoists around the world?

Thanks

While some Maoists do have a favorable view on Prachanda, most of them do not.

Prachanda's Maoist sympathizers (''Kasama'', ''Democracy and Class Struggle'', ''Revolution in South Asia'', among others) admire him because of the People's War he led in Nepal and because they think he is a great leader.

But the Maoist critics of Prachanda (''Odio de Clase'', LLCO, the Naxals and a lot of Parties that consider themselves anti-revisionists) argue that he betrayed the People's War on behalf of bourgeouis democracy and that he is a revisionist.

Maoists, including the UCPN(M), hold that China completed its new democratic revolution by 1949 while the Nepalese revolution is yet to complete that stage.

As of now no big Maoist CP has given any direct statement against Prachanda, but generally Kiran's line is more accepted among Maoists from other parties, particularly the CPI(Maoist).

Didnt about two years the CPI (Maoist) put out a quite damning critique of Prachanda, and it almost seemed that they were going to label him a revisionist, but than pulled back?

Both the PCP and CPI(Maoist) had earlier stated that the UCPN(M) was adopting a revisionist line, but as far as I recall there was no direct allegation against Prachanda. Subsequently both the parties went softer on their criticisms while maintaining that the UCPN(M) is facing a conflict between a revolutionary and a revisionist line.

the peru peoples movement( pcp organisation for party work in europe etc.) made the last very clear critic about the cpn m in december 2010.they called the party leadership "traitors and revisionists".
and i think the criticism from the cpi maoist couldnt be much harder. both parties think that the way prachanda went the last years is totally wrong. i dont know why to play this down...

That is different from what the OP asked. Denouncing a leader altogether as revisionist is a very drastic step, and the big Maoist CPs haven't taken it yet.

I wouldn't exactly call the LLCO Maoist, especially since they claim to have broken from MLM and that their "M"TW line is the "new, fourth stage" of Marxism.

I know that the CPI (Maoist) pulled back and adopted a softer position which led me to believe that they have access to information that we dont. However did the PCP?

as i said, the pcp criticism was getting harder the last month. The MPP is not PCP. The MPPs are PCP support organizations and do not represent the official line of the PCP. Take what the MPPs say with a grain of salt.

yeah, but as far as i know, things like this would never ever be said against the partys line. but lets not go into detail in the internet.
