I think it would be a great idea to create and stick a thread dedicated to human liberation technology/ technical groups.

Per say, http://opensourceecology.org/ is a site about open-source-do-it-yourself machinery about farms. Or http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page about 3d printers.

Anything technological that increases working class economic power and autonomy from the system. With a brief explenation for everything we post in order to make it more usefull to whoever wants to get involved with.

Along with a page about the main proponent of the Free Software Movement
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Stallman

Outside of software liberation I don't really have many more ideas. I'll be sure to post more.

I want to add another point to that. Lets create a fund for testing, prototyping of ideas, which have the potential the world and can be beneficial to human kind and the whole world.

The links from the first two posts (especially the first one) show great promise. I think there is a lot of relevance there to the communist project.

PowerMatching City: the first European city test for a smart power grid

http://www.ecn.nl/typo3temp/pics/91ccf606d6.jpg (http://www.ecn.nl/index.php?eID=tx_cms_showpic&file=uploads%2Fpics%2FHoogkerk_PowerMatching_City_ 01.jpg&width=500m&height=500&bodyTag=%3Cbody%20bgColor%3D%22%23ffffff%22%3E&wrap=%3Ca%20href%3D%22javascript%3Aclose%28%29%3B% 22%3E%20%7C%20%3C%2Fa%3E&md5=948f8eda8befe2f201f8eefbd655dee9)
In the future the electricity flow in the electricity grid will become bidirectional. Solar panels and micro-CHP installations will turn consumers into producers of electricity. This is good for the climate, but it will require a smarter electricity grid; a so-called Smart Grid. ECN has developed the digital control concept PowerMatcher for this smart grid, which will be tested for one year in the Dutch city of Hoogkerk: PowerMatching City.
In Hoogkerk, 25 dwellings have been virtually connected to each other. In each of these dwellings, electricity is not only used but also generated. The PowerMatcher enables demand and supply matching in a smart grid. The amount of electricity that is generated from renewable sources does not always match demand. There may be no wind or it may be cloudy at times of high energy demand and vice versa. Thanks to the PowerMatcher the washing machine will be automatically started when the electricity price is lowest, for example when there is a surplus of solar energy.
Last Wednesday, March 10th, mayor Rehwinkel of Groningen gave the official go-ahead for the test with this smart grid. After one year, the collected data will be analysed to find out how the system behaves. This project, which is supported by the European Union, should enable large-scale implementation of smart grids. They are essential for the future integration of, for example, large volumes of renewable energy. Other partners in the project include KEMA/Gas Consulting Services, Essent/New Energy and Humiq.
