Some of these shouldn't let you to be allowed on a plane LOLWUT?

I'm fairly sure that you should only be prevented from getting on a plane if you have, say, weapons or a bomb. I'm fairly sure that no mater how much of an ultra-McGuyver you are you'll have difficulty hijacking or blowing up a plane using a t-shirt.

Those Tee shirts make people nervous. Why upset people for no reason? The airlines would get calls, the police would get calls. Needless bother. And don't forget the Revolution hasn't happened yet so the airlines are private businesses--they can make their own rules on whom and what they will carry.

Some of these shouldn't let you to be allowed on a plane, but others are just ridiculous.

The banning of the first four is ridicilous. And the banning of the arabic one was offensive. The fifth is one I can understand slightly, and the one "With I Have A Bomb" (though why would a real bomber do that?). The one with the map was funny and souldn't have been banned. The same again for the "Don't Touch My Junk" ones... So far only one was slightly understandable. May give up.... my net is taking too long to load anyway.

Seems like a pretty strong endorsement for their nationalisation.

EDIT: The transformers one is especially ridiculous. I dont see how that could upset anyone, even on a political level.

#6 the fake bomb vest is a legit denial, because it's a facsimile. Can't carry a fake gun either. I once had the idea to take aluminum foil and cut out the outline of a gun, glue it to a piece of cardboard at put it in my carry-on (pre-9-11).
#7 Is actually against the rules. They post that even joking about bombs will get you detained, and that is pre-9-11.

The rest are totally allowable. Freedom of speech, good jokes. I mean, the political ones especially. What if you just had an Obama 2012 t-shirt?

No because airlines are private business and can make their own rules for who they let on board.

Buy yourself your own plane and you can fly wherever you want wearing whatever you choose.

Easy as that.

Seems like a pretty strong endorsement for their nationalisation. The people buying and paying for a world class money loosing operation just so you could wear any Tee shirt you want on the flights doesn't seem like a prudent choice of action to me.

No the rules are made by the government, DHS formerly the TSA. These people are being stopped at screening.

I understand that. But it BOTHERS the business of the airlines. It makes their job difficult if planes don't take off because of a terrorist scare.

Who do you think the DHS works for in cases like this? You?

The DHS works for the joy of its own power. I know, the bastards detained me without charge for 6 months! (OK, 5.5 months one way and 0.5 months another way).

Because freedom is only to be supported when it's my freedom, specifically my freedom to make money. Right?! Right Bud?! What happened to communism being to authoritarian, and capitalism more free? Oh, it's not. Tyranny is just privatized, and that is perfectly okay with you.

inconsistent liberal hypocrite.

Most constitution forbid any form of discrimination based on gender, colors, or political opinions.

Refusing to take a passanger beccause he wear a particular t-shirt beccause he want to make a political statement is against the constitution.

Its discrimination pure and simple.

Bad argument but good point. Bad argument because the constitution also guarantees the right to bear arms, and you sure as hell can't carry a gun on an airplane, unless you're a US Marshall, like the one that transported me from Seattle to Milwaukee.

Funny story, I had to go through the metal detector, which went off. They asked if I had any metal objects. Yeah, ankle shackles, belt chain, and handcuffs. Idiots.

Its not the same thing, in the case of bearing arms, your constitutional right might put other people dirrectly at risk, having a gun in a high pressure plane is something verry dangerous, not beccause of terrorists, but beccause of the danger of an accident.

A guy wearing a t-shirt expressing their opinions isnt a threat to anyone.

Unless of course you consider the t-shirt of being a weapon you could strangle people with.

No.

You are yelling "FIRE" in a crowed theatre.

OK, you say you aren't. I say you are--so let's err on the side of caution. You lose.

The 3-1-1 rule never made sense to me. I know too much about chemistry and explosives. A 1 quart bag filled with containers of 3.4oz (100ml) of jells and fluids. Seal the bag at home, clean it off so their chemical swipes don't detect anything. It's just silly. The rule won't stop anyone. That's almost three quarters of a liter of chemicals (volume lost from shape of bottles)!

Who is more likely to blow up a plane? the guy wearing a t-shirt I am a bomb, or that clean shaved dude wearing shades who have a contact in the airport security staff?

I think letting people going into planes with that kind of t-shirt would be a good thing, people would learn that folks wearing weird or stupid t-shirt are not to be feared.

Each time a guy wearing a t-shirt like that is stopped at the airpôrt security, its a victory for those who blew up the WTC, beccause you demonstrate to them that scaring people is an effective tactic.

Every time we surrender our right for more security, we kill ourselves a little more

"Airport guards at Heathrow Airport stopped a man from boarding a plane because he was wearing a Transformers t-shirt showing a cartoon gun. Brad Jayakody was wearing the exact t-shirt pictured, and was so incensed at being refused boarding rights that he blogged about it - you can read his account here."
I fully support this, I mean Michael Bay movies are horrific crimes against humanity

No they cannot, airline security, who gets on the plane, infact the whole airline industry is heavilty regulated as it damn well should be.

Wearing a T-shirt is not yelling fire in a crowded theatre.

No one issues alerting warnings about imminant disaster through a t-shirt.

And airlines can build their own airports. Again, they DO NOT make the rules, airlines can't ban arabs, for example.

"I have a bomb" << I'm still trying to figure out whether they'd take that seriously and charge at you, or take it as an obvious joke and laugh.

Really? Because a terrorist with a bomb is totally gonna walk in wearing a shirt that says "I have a bomb.".... so stupid. Some of those shirts are awesome. The transformer one makes no sense. Will I get stopped for wearing a shirt with a Molotov cocktail? O_O
