What is your opinion about quality and trustworthiness of this book? I'm planning to buy it, so I'm interested how well researched and factual it is. Is it just typical anti-communist bullshit (oh my god, Stalin, totalitarian monster, killed 20 million people!!! :D), or is it unbiased, scientific work? Has anyone read it and what are your experiences? :)

I like how you used "anti-communist" there.

I haven't read that one but if you want a good biography of Stalin you should get "Stalin: Man of History" by Ian Grey. The author's a conservative and openly boasts how he "abhors Marxist dogma" in the introduction but all in all it's the fairest biography there is of him.

It's a good book. It isn't a biography of Stalin or anything, but you can see on Google Books its table of contents seeing as how it's a compilation of academic articles on Stalin.
Ian Grey's biography is good, but it's also dated.
