Tokelau - An island, a 37 hrs boat trip from Apia, West Samoa.

Supposedly, the fisherman go out everyday bring back fish and divide it equally among the 3 islands 1500 or so residents.

No private property, all 'production' is shared..

It's a terrority of New Zealand though..

but what do you think? any more info on the island? communism? no?

Communal primitivism is what it sounds to be, but I'm not really sure. I'll be searching for more information regarding this island.

I found this from the US department of the Interior

A group of three atolls in the South Pacific Ocean, about one-half of the way from Hawaii to New Zealand, with an area of 10 sq km and a population of ca. 1,458. Originally settled by Polynesian emigrants from surrounding island groups.
Fakaofo is capital of the state Tokelau. Tokelauans are drafting a constitution, developing institutions and patterns of self-government as Tokelau moves toward free association with New Zealand.
Tokelau is undergoing an institutional change process where the UN plays a role. Its 1500 inhabitants, 10 sq.km. and no important income source make independence from New Zealand difficult, and the islanders are very comfortable with the current situation, with which they assume more self-determination rights in political issues, while New Zealand covers its broad economical deficit and absorbs constant immigration originating in a population excess.

However anything from that department is prety sketchy eh!
