We've been asked by the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) to launch a second urgent action campaign this week. This time, our target is Swaziland, where hundreds of trade unionists and pro-democracy protestors have been jailed. Please take a moment to read more and send off your protest message today:

I'd like to thank the more than 3,000 of you who responded in the first 36 hours of our Bahrain campaign. If you've not yet done so, please send off your message now:

Many of you received automated messages back from the Bahraini government - we apparently overwhelmed their email systems. But every message we received has reached the ITUC and will be forwarded on.
In brief …
GoodElectronics has asked us to let you know about the online petition they have going against Hitachi. They say the company "is failing to uphold human rights throughout its supply chain". To learn more and to send off your message please click here.
I also wanted to let you know about a couple of interesting labour education programs in New York City. The first is the Union Semester Internship for adults or college students. Those accepted would work with a union in New York and the internship includes a stipend. Participants can take classes and even receive a partial scholarship from the City University of New York (CUNY). Full details are here. The second is from the Murphy Institute at CUNY and it's their Masters Degree in Labor Studies or 4-course Certificates. They claim a world-class faculty and a chance to network with activists. For full details click here or email [email protected]
Finally, I'd like to wish you and your families a very happy Easter and Passover.
Eric Lee
