What would you do if....

A purely hypothetical question. Its the 70s or 80s. You live in a Western European country. Lets say that all the bullshit NATO propaganda was actually true-one day the Russians come pouring though the Fulda Gap, (I know this is a ahistorical, the fSU had no intention of this and by the 70s reduced their supply lines so much they couldn't have invaded Europe even if they had wanted to, but imagine).

Okay, the Russians are very successful in their invasion and within a few weeks are rolling across Europe. Scandinavia, the Low Countries, Germany, most of Italy, and France , everything up to the Pyrennes, will soon be under occupation by the commies.

What would you do?

A.) Side w/the Russians, maybe join a pro-Soviet partisan group
B.) Join your country's military to fight the Soviets
C.) Stay out of it
D.) Try to organise a third force against capitalism and Stalinism
E.) Take a holiday in sunny Spain, wait to see what happens. Ibiza is really nice this time of year.
F.) A mixture of some or all of the above

If you picked D, how do you do this? What would you tell people?

I would sent ammunition to the Soviets, food to my home country, and intelligence to the third party faction but not really caring who wins while I relax in Spain.

Either that, or through the chaotic climate I'm sure such an event would bring to the world, create a third party through it all, and probably invade a little part of Spain for myself. So mostly, third party myself in Spain. :D

Since my homeland was Socialist in that period (not the socialism i follow,but nevertheless a version of socialism) we would probably all feel good,i'd probably join the Soviets or the state army since it would probably be an ally of the Soviet Union.

Considering I don't care for the USSR and to fight stalinism your best bet would be to join the Soviets and hope they try to make Albania a citrus republic and navy base, I'd probably go to the U.S. or somewhere in Latin America. Or stay put. I wouldn't stay if I could get out.

I wasn't born until '87 but I suspect I'd use it as an excuse to go to Mexico, mainly because I always loved going to see my family members down there. Keep in mind I'm only semi-political.

I'd try to organize for revolution but not to attack the soviets, I'd hope that they would grant us some autonomy after the war was over. However, conscription would be introduced as in the 2nd world war so I'd probably be arrested for refusing to fight and be thrown in jail.
