Supermarkets often put the use by/best before dates forward a lot because they think a product has to look perfect on their shelves, which is why they throw so much away.

If it's a bit on the stale side, try putting it in the microwave for a bit. Tends to moisten stuff up.

Finding edible food= good. Finding a sandwich that has been in the bottom of a bag for probably at least 6 months.... O_O slightly disturbing.

It was only a sizeable amount of Cake not a whole one ....and yes it was edible -I considered the risk and tried some.So far I feel fine..for now
