I don't think he was as idiotic as he was just straight honest especially when it came to his opinion on Libya.

But his straight honesty, was straight idiotic. ;)
As for the video, Trump is always talking a hard game, which is probably why he's also up in the Republican poling. If he, for whatever strange reason, did become the President of the US, he'd have a lot more ropes to jump, than he's saying now.
(Kind of like Obama with his Hope/Change slogans, during the electoral race.)

If you look at it from a political strategist's point of view.

I like how he's gonna run as some kind of entrepreneur when he's run every business ever into the ground.

Trump is just a joke as someone said. He is not really relevant.
I've always thought since the last election that Romney will be the next Republican nominee. I still think he probably will. I think Obama will win again though.
Not that it matters.

"Really? I don't think that the news ever reported that"
"Sir they weren't supposed to do that. You see if we said that we would look like imperialists, and not genuinely good individuals who only care for the welfare of those people living under dictators. Yes big scary dictators. That's what scares people, and we have to look like the good guys."
"But, hey I'm proud to be an imperialist"
"Sir, we all are but you've just said it on national television"
"So what if I did; I'm Donald fucking Trump"
"Sir I believe that this is being recorded by some poster on revolutionary left dot com"

This jackass ran a casino into the ground. How the fuck does a casino fail? Nobody ever beats the house? Its a fucking money trap, how in the fuck?
If you can't keep a casino from going bankrupt you can't run a business.

I'd rather vote for Sarah Palin. And it pains me to type that. Granted, both would be funny to watch, and both would just run the USA into the ground. But Trump seems to posses an extra level of self-promotion and lack of seriousness which is astounding for anyone who claims to be as successful as he is. He's a combination of your average sleazy businessman, with a little bit of Lou Dobbs, a little bit of Snooki, and a lot of Dog the Bounty Hunter. He's every bad celebrity rolled into one. He may even be doing this whole damn presidential bid as a stunt to sell books.
Bolded for emphasis:
If Donald Trump wins, we will forever recognize the Mayans for having the deepest of eschatological foresight.

Don't mean to nit pick but depending on the type of casino you're running it's can be quite easy for it to fail. If your clientèle are the super rich high rollers and they start winning and you haven't got the funds to back it up or even worse they stop coming then your gonna go broke pretty fast. It does happen for instance since the recession two of the most prestigious casinos in London have closed. The Ritz even closed before the recession hit only to open again before closing again.
Although the odds are in the houses favour that doesn't mean that they always win. That only happens if the people who do win large amounts keep coming back to your place to lose the money back instead of going to one of your rivals to lose it.
As for Trump his penchant for extravagance probably added massively to the cost of the casino combined with some of the other things I've mentioned makes it unsurprising that the business failed.

I honestly like it a little when celebrity clowns like Trump win because they expose the lunacy of the current political system.

"My medicare reform is not Obama's medicare reform, just looks a lot like it", "Bad Birthers, bad". He's basically gone against what is, increasingly, becoming the primary base of the federal GOP to present himself as a moderate. This causes the slight issue that while he'd likely be presidentiable against Obama, since they largely have similar views on issues (and while he's white, Mormon is going to carry its own stigma in the campaign, especially as evangelicals will not tend to vote for a mormon), he's also not sure to be that palatable to the rabid far-right element and thus to the people who are actually going to vote on the candidate.

Spoken like a true CAPITALIST.
He'll take and take, but leave just enough for people to survive.
But seriously, I think this is all a gimmick to sell books and publicity for his show.
What scares me though is that this guy is pulling everyone's leg, but Republican voters are loving it!

This guy will definitely bankrupt the world. He could be the guy that will furtherize the radicalization of the working class.
