Even though posting here always feels as stupid as putting your hands into a tank full of piranhas due to the absolute maximum level of trolls and assholes, I still thought I'd go for it and share with you guys this introductory document created by Maoists from India. It deals with the history of the Marxist movement all the way up to the eventual development of MLM as the largest revolutionary force today.
Download it here (http://www.mediafire.com/?xu6e7qk9t5m2x91).

Are they as big a bunch of assholes as the people you support who murder peasants and workers on the premise of being revolutionary? Go and peddle your bullshit to the victims of the Sendero Luminoso.

They're even worse -- they cannibalize (http://www.odishatoday.com/Maoist_in_cannibal_act_to_terrorise_villagers_in_O rissa.html) villagers to terrorize them! :sneaky:

I was once in an antiquarian bookshop in Chicago I think where I came across a mint condition 1978 Little Red Book. I may not agree with it all, but it is one of my most treasured books in my collection. Show it to everyone. First time in English.

My thoughts exactly! Renounce your reactionary ways and adopt MLM (or something else -- depending on which missionaries come over) and you'll be free from the gulag, it's as simple as that.

That is what bourgeois sources claim. Look at other more prominent groups that support the PCP and you will get an idea of its real character.

My spanish teacher's car was blown up with him almost in it by shining path after he refused to send his students into the jungle to fight for them. He's not bourgouase, he teaches at a high school in a california suburb now. He fled peru to get away from them. he's no reactionary either, he speaks well of hugo blanco and even castro to an extent. he's going to cuba this summer. however shining path is bad news, im not sure about the indian maoists or most other groups but if shining path is an ideal MLM group than i'm not in agreement with the mlm movemment.

I am not claiming that your teacher is a reactionary or something like that, but in places like Peru, owning a car brings you somewhat closer to the elites than the working class. Generally people who come from the middle class talk about Castro or Blanco and conclude that there is a communist government somewhere in the world, without taking part in the struggle in their own countries. Morevoer, Maoists consider both of them reactionary and are particularly hostile to those who support "leftists" running for elections within the old power-balance.
Also, I don't buy into this story of the PCP trying to recruit his students and blowing up his car just because he didn't let them. To participate in a guerrilla war one needs to be mature enough to take decisions on his own irrespective of what his teachers tell him. A teacher cannot "send" his students to the jungle. Most probably your teacher had interfered with the activities of the PCP's student-wing and misused his position as a teacher against them. Actions such as damaging private property are generally used in such situations as early warnings.

I think this is a good analogy, while popular belief holds that piranhas and OI people are vicious killers, they are in fact rather timid and most bites are minor and come from carelessness. so as long as you keep them well fed it should be alright to stick your hand in.

I am not a big fan of sendero luminoso. I am sceptical to its tactics and in general to its behaviour. From what I gather from multiple sources a lot of the propaganda is just that but a lot is also justified and not so easilly dimissable.

Don't worry about Syd Barrett; a RevLeft discussion just wouldn't be complete without one of Syd's "critiques" of Stalin, "Stalinism", Mao, the Shinning Path or all of the above! ;)
