Just wondering - May Day is the ultimate day of action.
What'll everyone be doing?
I'm heading up to Toronto to go to the May Day March there, with my union (UFCW 1000A).

Here in the states, May Day is usually billed as immigrant's rights day. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, however I do have a problem with the proximity of the date with the time when finals and papers are due. So last couple of years, since I went back to school, I wasn't able to go due to having all these lame deadlines. Which is kind of depressing considering that the turnout to these marches are pretty good and consistent every year (in the thousands). This year, with Wisconsin and all that, we had some teacher's rallies, and some union rallies that produced good turnouts, I'm thinking May Day will probably draw a nice crowd as well.

Unfortunate.
Here in Canada, the official "worker's day" is Labour Day September, however May Day is seen as a sort of international day of solidarity and most of the unions stage rallies on May 1st.

I'll be at a Beltane celebration with some NeoPagan friends of mine. I am not a NeoPagan (Militant Atheist), I'm just there to give advice and critique. Hey, they invited me :)

The May Day Parade has been an important part of the S. Minneapolis community for decades. This year, for the first time, we're getting a special International Workers Day section within the parade, organized by the IWW! It's gonna be tight! Then later, I'll go to St. Paul for the Immigration Rights march and rally.
May 1st is where the party's at.

Marching as a contingent with the Vänsterpartiet feeder march to downtown Stockholm. Last couple years have been great, we'll see how we fare this year.

I heard Brighton is going to be pretty good on April 30th. I'm currently working out the logistics of attending three demos in three different towns in two days. There's a counter-EDL demo on the 30th and then also Brighton on the 30th and London on May 1st. I reckon I might be able to make 'em all.

Perhaps head into Drammen and march with the regional group of Communist Party of Norway (it is the closest town where the Communist Party have their own section in the parade), or perhaps participate in the local parade.

Thanx to that *#@$! of an queen celebrating her birthday the 30th, wich is THE national party holliday I need to work the night before mayday till about 6 in the morning I'm afraid I won't make the radical anti-cap demo in utrecht. So I'm afraid ill miss the demo this year wich sucks big time.
At least I will see the cockney rejects, discharge and a whole lot of other bands play that evening so ill drown my guilt there.

I'll also be marching in Stockholm, as Olentzero. Although, i'll be in the local syndicalists march. We're usually around 3000 persons, while the Left Party's rally is attended by 10 000, and the social democrats 10 k too.

You don't remember the one that happened a few years back? It was pretty huge, I think it was like 2005 or 2006. You didn't just have a rally in the capitol(Which was a huge march by itself) but you had walkouts all across America that day. I remember hearing about whole cities in California just filled with people in the streets like in San Jose.

Nice. You should do that. Mother Earth needs us. NeoPaganism is the answer to all the questions of our times.

You know the usual, having some beer, singing folk songs, sacrificing the local queen of the may. The sort of thing we always do for May "oop North".
Some of the above is true by the way. ;)

Don't forget the BEES!
The area where I live has very little in the way of left wing movements from what I can tell. I did find a small celebration at an anarchist bakery that I hope to attend, though.

I am going to Berlin too.
Some friends from Germany organized our trip and stay there, so I can't wait. I've never been outside of Serbia on May Day, and I've heard Berlin demos are usually the most radical of all protests in Europe so I do have something to look forward to.
I just hope that I don't get arrested, that would mean at least 5 years of ban from the European Union countries.

I'm moving back to Omaha on May 3rd. If I were to move sooner, I would be attending the Working Class Solidarity March being held by the I.W.W. in Lincoln, NE. It looks promising from what I know, and there are going to be speeches by several wobblies.
On a related note: Really looking forward to being active with the IWW Nebraska in these coming days
