They have tax returns because rich people's returns have to be so convoluted they can hide their money in them. It would be no matter to just record your income and send you a return... but not when you have to add in "commercial air craft fuel purchase credits" and things like that.

It was difficult obtaining w2's. That was the main problem. The other issue was that I've worked for several places in several states during the tax year- which involved several part year forms but also involved earning income in one state while considered resident in another. I once tried to explain to my (extended) family how a "flat tax" is actually a regressive tax. And that a proper progressive tax is the flat tax... but that just turned into a shitstorm on how I love Obama :rolleyes:
(In case you're wondering; think of interest [which none of them collect, only pay]. The more you have, the more your percentage actually means. If you're collecting 5% interest with a 10k investment, thats $500. But if your collecting 5% with a 10m investment, that's a whopping $500k. That's quite a difference.
For taxes just reverse this, and now you're paying instead of collecting. So you're talking about taking away some money; namely $500 of $10k, or $500k of $10m. Idk about you, but I'm gona miss $500 on a 10k budget far more than 500k on a 10m budget.)

Video- One of Buffalo's grittier players dumps Philly's more skilled 'star' player right off the face off- intentionally to stir things up and it should have been a penalty but it wasn't. Right after the puck is dropped the second time one of Philly's smaller non-fighters challenges the jerk and they go. Big size disadvantage to the Philly player but I tip the winter hat I'm wearing to him. The 'star' player then gets involved with another of Buffalo's agitators and draws a penalty against him while getting in a few decent shots.

There isn't going to be discussion or copy and pasting of discussion on/from the CU forum. It's obvious from the user's Banned status, which is very public, that they are no longer on the forum but yes it was their choice, sort of.

I liked him--one of the few people on this board that really unnderstood American politics and political trends, he didn't have dreamlanditis like some posters around here. The Technocrat idea definitely had a few snags--but it reached for an actual functioning Communism--something never tried or achieved before.

He also was a good and fair mod, too. I thought of him as a friend. I'm going to miss him.

This forum reminds me of a gladiatorial arena sometimes the combatants/users kick 7 shades of shit out of each other and if anyone trips up (in some cases just because they're having a bad day/week/month) the watching crowd then call for blood or mercy before someone gives the thumb up or thumb down. Others decide to not wait for a decision and fall on their swords.

If people are going to be on a political forum then they are going to have to take responsibility for their views and defend them etc. I still don't see why he just decided to request a ban- but then of course we mortals are not privy to the internal machinations of the secret forums.

Yeah, I hope someone saved his avatar. There should be a revleft memorial thread sticky somewhere where each user and their longest used / best remembered-by avatar gets a spot. Or even an open Wiki. It would be a lot of fun to deface certain people's wiki entries. (but then again, there's already a negatively toned consensus with others.)

I was playing off of Bud's joke- which was associating leftist stances against crimes by the Israeli government. I knew what he meant and I meant the same. But I notice you didn't mention anything to him about it. Something wrong?
