Hello to my fellow members, hopefully this introduction of mine is coherent and allows me to help fit into this community. :)
Firstly, I'd just like to point out that my interest in politics and indeed the left-wing has only began to take shape over the past 6 months to one year, so bear with me if I don't appear to be too knowledgeable on certain matters. Bearing in mind the guidelines on this forum, all I'll say is that I'm currently in my 5th year of Secondary school in Scotland. My interest in politics before this academic year had been pretty limited, but this began change as soon as I started learning about appeasement in History class. After learning about the initial rise of Nazism in Germany, my interest in the political spectrum as a whole began to grow and the more I delved into it, the more my interest grew. Pretty soon I began taking a more in-depth interest in current affairs, and this is probably which brings me here...
Like I mentioned previously, my interest in politics is only young, but I'm unsure as to which part of the left-wing I belong. As you can probably deduce from my username, I'm vehemently opposed to fascism; every aspect of it sickens me, but my main fear is that it could become a powerful force to be reckoned with in this country. I understand the clandestine nature of antifa groups, and hopefully in time I'll be able to participate in their demonstrations and activities; until then, however, I'm committed to researching and learning as much about the left-wing as possible.
I am aware of the Learning forum on this board, would this be the most appropriate place to question what group my beliefs reflect? Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions, but please be gentle with me. :p
