What? Who? Those who were responsible? I wasn't aware that we knew who did it yet. Or Belarus? Why mention it in this context? What's the deal here?

I'm very interested in knowing who was responsible, and what was their actions.
White Legion were blamed for a bomb a few years ago, but I can't see why they would carry out an attack..

The Baltics have a history of being host to Nazis and Nazi-sympathisers.

The explosion apparently took place near government buildings, one in which is occupied by President Lukashenko.

Just one explanation for why the other poster might have said it was an act by latvian Nazis, I have not heard anything of who might have done it.

Who said the entire population was? There are surprising numbers of them, and the general political environment in the region, as in Poland, is fiercely anti-communist.

anti-Communist scum.
I don't think Lukashenko's government could be called "Communist" at all. Most likely, this explosion was either the work of some criminal gangs or the false flag operation.

First of all...this is a horrible tragedy and my heart goes out to all those affected.
The station that looks like it was hit isn't just close to government buildings, it's also very close to GUM (one of the biggest shopping centers there) and a few other exceptionally busy areas...it's also half of the only transfer station in the city. Who knows what the scum behind this were after, but we can rule out any "false flag" speculation...I don't see how the government could benefit one bit from this. Regardless, I hope the perpetrators of this outrage are found sooner rather than later.

Really? Tomorrow Lukashenko can go out on the national TV and blame the attack on the opposition and claim foreign involvement in the attack and he will have a free hand to crack down on any dissent..
The attack does not make sense, i mean we can rule out Islamic extremists since they there is no reason to target Belarus at all and i dont think that the oppostion is going to bomb metro stations..

My money at the moment is on some nationalist group. Lukashenko is pretty tight with the Russians and they could see him as some sort of Neo-Soviet leader.

One of Lukashenko's biggest appeals to the people of Belarus is that he's kept them safe and stable in a region that's been anything but. Belarusians recognize that even if they disagree with him...they know how crazy things are in Russia and they're glad they don't have to worry about it when they commute to work or go to see a movie. Safety and stability have given Lukashenko legitimacy and support, and he would never want to besmirch that record.
Plus, why would he want to crack down on dissent when said dissent poses no real threat to him and when he can enact policy with virtually no obstacles? And I highly doubt he'd ever accuse other governments of complicity in this unless he had real good proof...Belarus has been starting to build better relations with their neighbors and Belarus would lose a lot from that getting disturbed needlessly.
If you ask me (and this is only speculation), I think the trail leads into Russia somehow. When you consider the open border and the ability of Russian groups to carry out such a crime it's hard to ignore. If for whatever reason the trail leads west, things could get much uglier fast. That's all I'll say without more information.

What kind of dissent? Which class interest do those "dissents" represent? The working class? IMO, the working class of Belarus is in better condition than the surrounding countries.
