As a militant anti-Zionist, I've been working with my local club of the Young Communist League of Canada to attempt to discover any Israeli products being stocked by local businesses.

By chance, I seem to have found something that is as of yet unreported - the grocery store giant, Metro, stocks Jaffa oranges, particularily, we've discovered that the one in Trenton, Ontario does.

If you are a Canadian, please read this:

http://corporateoccupation.wordpress.com/2010/05/18/mehadrins-business-in-beqaot-settlement-and-tescos-complicity/

It details the company which produces these oranges, Mehadrin, and its crimes in the West Bank.

So, next time you go into your local Metro, look for this label:

And avoid it.

As an addition to this for the UK, the supermarket Morrissons also stocks Israeli groceries, some of which are grown on illegal settlements.

Also many of the dates (fruit) you see on sale around the muslim fasting month of Ramadan (a time when they are traditionally consumed by muslims) are grown in Israel, and a lot of muslims in the UK and probably elsewhere buy them without realising where they are from.

Good Job comrade ! Please continue with the good work , anything that is produced from the tears of Palestinian people should be boycotted .

By the way can you tell us what kind of stuff Israel generally exports for consumer use?

A list of such things will make it easier for boycott , I have heard Israel is into Electronics business is it true? Are there any Israeli consumer electronics?

This is not an easy question to answer. There is no definitive "list" of places to look for Israeli goods - most companies make damn well sure no one finds out.

Our main source for who is stocking what is either aware people who just discover the good at their store, or dedicated activists within Israel that track down where companies get and ship their goods.

For example, I only found out Metro was stocking Jaffa because, well, I went to buy oranges at Metro and recognized the brand name as an Israeli brand from these posters:

Also, this depends on what level of boycott you are going for. Are you going to boycott any companies which service Israel in any way? Because this encompasses most international conglomerates.

Or are you ONLY going to boycott settlement products? Because there are fairly accurate product lists for that, though, they will not tell you exactly where to find them. This requires a lot of research - at the moment, I'm in the works of a full report on my province's publicly owned liquor corporation and its support of Apartheid.

Here is a (probably the best) website that documents any companies that:

- produce their goods on settlements
- help in the building of "the wall"
- service settlements
- service the Israeli military

http://www.whoprofits.org/

This is the issue we have in the movement to boycott Israel. It's not always obvious who is stocking Israeli brands - especially when it comes to grocery stores.

There is one definitive way to tell whether or not a product was made in Israel: http://www.arschloch.ch/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/barcode-israel.jpg

Also, if you tell me exactly where it is you are living, I can connect you to more resources.

You mentioned electronics - I know there are some computer products produced on settlements but as far as I know that is all.

The main products you need to look out for are agricultural products (mainly fruit or kosher snacks), wine (pretty much all kosher as well as some non-kosher wine is grown in Israel), and cosmetic products that say stuff like "from the dead sea" - meaning they were produced on a Kibbutz in the occupied West Bank, probably Mitzpe Shalem.

Hope I've helped.

As I understand is Tesco is pretty bad for stocking Israeli goods too, right?

I don't even know if Tesco is a grocery store though  We don't have them in this country.
