Well we can speculate a whole lot on what is going to happen.

But from what I hear he manages to attracks listeners and viewers and belongs to the top three of the country. But he does not seem to be racking in the donors and advertisements.

so starting his own show channel may be problematic.

Then again...how many of the viewers/listeners he gets are authentic Fox viewers/listeners?

Fox couldn't make money from his show? The audience was a relatively meagre 2 million? This surprises me somewhat but it surely means that naked fearmongering propaganda doesn't for very long after all, there is hope left for the American working class :cool:

Incidentally we see something similar in the Netherlands with Geert Wilders which at the last provincial elections, in which his party participated for the first time, didn't grown relatively from the last parliamentary elections, his support actually declined a little. The most obvious answer is that people are seeing through his bullshit and how he doesn't provide any actual answers, on the contrary, he got himself now bogged down in national government (although he only "allows" it, his party doesn't actually have ministers) which is bend on massive cuts. His party, while running on a superficially "social" election programme at the last national elections, has done nothing to stop the cuts and betrayed all of its "social" promises, structurally. Its only "victories" are in the area of immigration, which are shallow and meaningless even for his supporters.

You can only fool so many people for some time... But at the same time, Beck and Wilders will just be replaced by other fearmongers and racist populists - it is endemic in the needs of the system - until the vacuum is filled by an actual alternative, a working class alternative.

Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and the other people at FOX are not idiots, they are paid to sprout certain opinions. The problem with Beck was that FOX could not control him sufficiently and that he started to shift so far to the right that he turned moderate Conservatives away. At the same time, the amount of loons have increased thanks to him.
