here is my question is it ok to give a country aid like if there going thru a famine and they ask for help can you drop food for the masses i would think you could it would help greatly i mean yah its no as bad as it looks but i mean you cant isolate the world around you your going to have to be open to the world around you accept people let them speak as they want preach what they want isnt that what you want when it comes to freedom i know it sound corny and stuff but really i would not live in a country that wont let me speak my mind (soviet union) i mean when communism happens our leaders better not be crazy i want the will to say whatever the fuck i want and shit dont you!

The way aid works (in Canada) right now is that most of the money given must be spent on buying from Canadian corporations, which only increases the power of economic imperialism in that nation. The current rules of aid force the recieving nation to bend to the will of the donater, which makes it more like a form of slavery since the donator gets all the money back in trade and then demand that it is paid back again at a later date.

It's bullshit.

Aid is not as important as education of the dissemation of technology.

Depends on wht you mean by aid, if you give them materials to improve there way of life, then thats fine. But food and money means that their economy becomes dependant on these handouts and as soon as you take it away they collapse. Its a complicated problem.

The problem with giving materials only is the same as just giving money...well it is worse. With materials you do not usually supply the training so that the people of the recieving company will be able to build the technology they will be recieving or even repair it for that matter. Capitalist aid is just that, aid that benifits in the end the capitalists.

I was rather thinking of simple tools like fishing nets etc, like in the comic relief adverts.
