Is there a secret WWIII being fought that we don't know about? Not to be "ungentle" but if we didn't know about it then we wouldn't be able to answer the question. Also, given what they were like the first couple of times I'd guess that World Wars are pretty obvious affairs. that would be difficult, if not impossible, to keep secret for any length of time.

There's been a world war since the dawn of time, that's the class war. And it may sometimes be a physical war, it's mainly an economic and social war.

If you want to cite a source please use WikiLeaks.

Is there some reason why we'd have to cite WikiLeaks over some other source? What's with this exclusivity clause?

Anyway, I echo Jazzratt. World wars are obvious affairs. The clue's in the name...wars are usually pretty noticeable, and if it's spread over the whole world, it will be even more noticeable. We're just in the status quo, where countries just go to war every now and then, for this or that reason, without it necessarily meaning that there is a world war going on. Of course if you want to flesh out your little theory, though, feel free. Might be worth knowing where exactly this suggestion has come from...

According to the Zapatistas, we're currently becoming embroiled in the "Fourth World War", the struggle of Western powers (the United States in particular) to enforce their declared international hegemony in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War (the "Third World War"). You might want to look into that theory.

Using subtle wordplay: the U.S is in a war against the third world -- third world war.
