The footage below from a local news station shows Catherine Lennon, a grandmother from Rochester, New York being forcibly evicted from her home by a SWAT team.

Lennon has said that though she missed some mortgage payments after her husband died in 2008, she subsequently began making payments again. But because it was her husband's name, not hers, on the official mortgage documents, Fannie Mae wouldn't accept her money, and moved her house into foreclosure.

SWAT is the scum of the Earth. Fuck them, fuck court ordered evictions and fuck everyone who says that their hands are tied because of a fucking court ordered eviction.

Fucking seriously. This isn't even greedy, this is just cruel.

The cruelty surprises me less than the fact that they went about this so bluntly, without care for how bad it looked. Only the most cold heated person could not be sympathetic to the innocent women.

These bastards are getting cocky

I'm not sure if this applies here, but I remember reading a Matt Taibbi article saying that Goldman Sachs had small-claims courts rigged in their favor to force foreclosures, the point being that this would basically "destroy the evidence" of their financial fuckery. I wonder if this is related.

It's definitely related to the massive fraud being perpetrated to foreclose on homes that was just revealed. http://www.squattable.com/news/040411/cbs-60-minutes-exposes-foreclosure-bank-fraud-massive-scale

Damn, Taibbi definitely wrote a Rolling Stone article about that exact same shit a few months ago.

This (http://www.theagitator.com/) is a pretty good site for reports on police brutality that I check sometimes. It's run by a rightwing libertarian who does a lot of work investigating police brutality/corruption. I guess he even helped get this guy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cory_Maye) off death row.

The existence and nature of police is brutal. It's not an aberration.

Law isn't supposed to be fair, it is blind folded and supposed to be fair to all. Sometimes it would result in decisions that seem very cruel indeed.

Why on earth did they use a Swat Team. Is it just standard procedure or was she one tough granny?

I would think as long as some fat-cat was getting his money, he'd be happy. Bastards.

Shit, even a well-paid hitman still has to dispose of the body.
