Who else is getting pissed off with his Civillisation documentary series which aired on mainstream television (Channel 4) allows this man to spread lies and propaganda - not just this but make the left look stupid , his chilidish joke about Maoist china being badly dressed in "Maoist pajamas' just pissed me off immensley in the way he ridiculed egalitarian ideals.
Who else is watching and becoming increasingly irritated by this man ???

Have you noticed how much he looks and sounds like Duncan Bannatyne from Dragon's Den?
Anyway, I can't watch that programme. He seems to be saying that the goal of civilisation is the free market liberal democracies of the west, like this is the best system and the end of history.

I've seen bits and bobs, but I haven't sat down to watch the full thing. Honestly, I just can't offer much time to someone who claims to be a Marx-influenced materialist and then chooses to spend his career re-writing Victorian Whig histories with slightly up-dated terminology. It doesn't speak of a sound mind.
Also, yes, the Bannatyne resemblance is unnerving. It must be some dormant mutation in the Scottish gene-pool that's triggered by proximity to London bankers.

I like it when he tries to defend imperialism, and then either comes out looking like a raging xenophobic nationalist, or just plain stupid.
He's a crap historian, either way.

lots of crap in his civilisation show, but some parts are still interesting. would rather watch that then the endless "Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire" on the histor channel tbh, as atleast it attempts to answer an interesting and different question
