Comrade Emad Abu Rahma, member of the Central Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, responded to the occupation military's assassination of Palestinian fighters on April 2, 2011 with a call to confront occupation and aggression with resistance everywhere, urging an immediate end to division and restoration of unity in order to develop a full resistance to confront the plans of the occupier.

He emphasized that the Front refuses any truce with the occupation so long as it continues its attacks on our people and our land, telling Voice of the People radio in Gaza that discussion of calm becomes an encouragement to the enemy to murder our people. He said that the occupier must be confronted with resistance everywhere, not only in the Gaza Strip but also in the West Bank, to confront Israeli soldiers and settlers, and not waiting for the latest Israeli assassinations, killings, siege and crimes against our people.

Comrade Abu Rahma noted that the Israeli aggression against our people has been continuous and finds no difficulty in manufacturing pretexts to justify its targeting of our people and particularly the resistance, and emphasized the need for a comprehensive and united resistance strategy for the entire Palestinian people in all forms.

He offered the condolences of the Front to the families of the martyrs and pledged to continue their struggle for the goals for which they died - freedom of our people and our land. He denied reports that there is a Palestinian consensus for "calm," saying that our resistance is a right so long as the occupation of our land continues, and that resistance is our foremost confrontation with this occupation. He emphasized that the resistance forces must develop a united resistance front that belongs to our entire Palestinian people and which is able to effectively strategize and determine its responses to the occupation.

AAMB joins resistance factions to vow response to occupation crimes

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, rejected any truce with the occupation on April 3, 2011, as it participated in a joint press conference held by the armed wings of Palestinian factions in Gaza where representatives stated that the resistance is considering its response to the ongoing crimes and assassinations against the resistance and the Palestinian people as a whole.

The resistance groups stated that these crimes will not go unpunished and that the occupation will bear the consequences of its actions, and that the resistance has many options for its response to be determined by the situation on the ground. Furthermore, the resistance groups emphasized that it is their right to respond to these actions and that it will not accept the occupier targeting Palestinians for assassination. Furthermore, in response to an Israeli occupation statement that attempted to justify the murder of three Al-Qassam Brigades activists by stating they were planning to kidnap Israelis in Sinai, the resistance groups affirmed that their resistance takes place within the borders of historic Palestine.

In a press release, AAMB said that it agrees with all of the other armed factions in regard to holding the national interest first and foremost, while reaffirming its position that rejects the declaration of a truce with the occupation, because the crimes of the occupier do not stop with the declaration of calm by the Palestinian resistance, and it continues its assassinations, killings, destructions, invasions and siege while continuing to threaten war, despite any plans for calm or truce.

Despite many indications on the part of the resistance of interest in calm, the occupation has made clear its rejection with its assassinations and killings over the past days, said AAMB.

The Voluntary Action Committee of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine organized a voluntary activity in Jenin city on April 1, 2011, which included cleaning, repair and rehabilitation of a public street between Jenin city and Jenin refugee camp. Dozens of young people participated in the cleaning of the street, and the team also repaired the street, which had deteriorated and was riddled with potholes.

The organizers emphasized that this was an important project to repair a major link between the city and the camp, which is suffering due to poor road conditions, as the road has been difficult to pass for cars and caused damage due to holes in the road. The organizers said that this work is part of the Front's program of helping the people to meet their aspirations and build the popular culture of Jenin, involving residents in the work of improving their own environment. The organizers also noted that voluntary work is part of the basis of revolutionary work in a community, saying that this work was often completed by youth in the first intifada throughout Palestine as an expression of their commitment to the land and people of Palestine.

The Front thanked all who participated in this work, while residents emphasized the willingness of people to join these types of activities which reflect the daily priorities of life for Palestinians.
