I posted this here a long long time ago. This PBS site is excellent. The sorting game is a big wake up call and demolishes all notions of race, profiling and what you think people should look like. Check out the whole site.

"Hmm, well, that person is a Korean Canadian, she's Georgian, the child is Persian Mexican, and the guy in the back, well, it's obvious he's white South African." It seems like most people confused mixed-race (white-black or white-indigenous) for Latinos which is based off of a stereotype.

"Latinos" are a mix of indigenous, white, black, and asian. Quit trying to act like "latino" is a real race classification, its not. Its the most mixed group of people in the world (which is a good thing).

the one drop "rule" in america meams that there are a thousand ways to look black in this country. sitting in church on easter i was thinking how all the various shades and features would be divided into other categories in some latin american countries. most blacks in america are actually multi ethnic. personally i like it the way it is with at least the outward appearence of unity. i only got 5 right.
