The interview it self was nothing new.

But its funny to hear Americans talk about how Cuba has a less free press, can you imagen a major network in the US carrying a fair interview (no one can argue this was not a fair interview) with Chavez? Or Moralez? THe US press is a joke, even compared to totalitarian governments like Cuba.

Except you are living in 1973 when there were just a couple of news outlets in the US--in those days every--tried a bit to be fair. Now we are back to the days of a thousand news outlets with all sorts of slants. Believe it or not people know that.

People are smart enough to look at things and consider the source. There is no on single source for "truth" in news. People have to shop around. And that'sthe way it should be.

There are plenty of news sources on the Right and on the Left. In the US people aren't that interested in the Left's version. there is no difference between the websites of the Huffington Post and the CPUSA and the CNN and Fox News and the SWP and NPR and anyone else.

All are vastly available.

You have to give people more credit. They are not all stupid.

There's nothing totalitarian about the government of Cuba.

I bet the US will eventually agree to lift the embargo only on the terms that Cuba liberalize its economy.
