My grandfather passed away around 8 years ago due to Skin Cancer, and my grandmother kept all of his personal belongings in this large case that was never opened, except by him.

Well today we opened it, and I pissed my pants. He had a Nazi Armband, a Nazi Flag, a document signed by Heinrich Himmler, and an old Mauser, and a Hitler Youth Knife. We knew he was a huge WWII collector, but the Heinrich Himmler signature is 100% (We got it checked).

I thought I would put it in the history section, because today, history was made for me :thumbup1:

P.S. The stuff is still at my grandmother's house. I'll throw some pictures up here about the document when I pick it up in 2 weeks.

That's pretty creepy/weird. What are you going to do with it? I hope not sell it to loony Nazis who will be happy to have it.

EDIT: I'm sure you could find a museum or university that would like some of the documents and artifacts. And then it won't end up in some neo-Nazi collector's collection.

I might keep the document. But I'm going to give the armband and flag to a local museum or something. I ain't doing nothing until I shoot that mauser first.

Oh fuck... I hate this day.. No it's not April fools..

But yeah, I already have 2 mausers, but I guess another one couldn't hurt.

is it a german one from the era?

Keep it.

No, I don't believe you.

I'm not sure. I mean IIRC, there was some blackprint inside of the armband. The flag looked really old, because it could've been a reproduction.

GIVE ME THE MAUSER!!!!!!! :D

Send me some pics of it, I'll tell you straight up what it is.

Also, is it just me, or does there seem to be a lot of neo-Nazi's in PA? There sure are a lot of them from PA on SF.

It's a Yugo M24/47. It's odd though, It IS a Mauser, but it has a hammer and sickle on the top. Maybe it was captured?

i think yugoslavia produced mausers post-war until they got soviet licenses.

24/47

24 means design date
47 means production date.

M91/30

Nagant '91 year 1930.

The Man

Nice. I'd keep ahold of that one, they're pretty pricey depending on where you look. Great find. And the reason it has the Hammer & Sickle is because it was refurbished during the Cold War when Tito was in power.

Actually, like many countries that had Mauser's over the years, the Yugoslavians just asked Mauser to make them a rifle in their specs, just like Spain did, etc. That's why you get guns like the Spanish Mauser, Chilean Mauser, etc.

Also, at the end of WW2, the added '47 just means the year that they started making their own Mauser, with the '24 design.

Cool story, bro., but I'll be needing confirmation. You know the drill: Pics Or It Didn't Happen

Yeah, pics with a letter references this debate would be good.

I also would like to put out that being a collector of NAZI memorabilia doesn't mean you are a Neo--NAZI, I can appreciate much of the aesthetics (and I do not just mean the Hugo Boss uniforms!), even if I do not agree with what they represent. The Mauser is a lovely looking gun, like the Luger (notice how beautiful weapons can be despite their ugly job?), which were created before Nazism anyway.

An ACTUAL Himmler signature? you can DEFINITELY sell this for good $$$...

Should probably keep it until he really, really needs to sell it, I guess. Selling it would just fuel Capitalism anyway and it would end up in the hands of a Neo-Nazi. If anything, he should donate it to a museum.

Alright, Here's the mauser along with my new AR15/M16. Yes, they are all legal, they have never been used in a crime, and they will never be used in a crime. I found the bayonet at the bottom of the box as well.

That's what I plan to do. I'm going to pick them up in two weeks, since the drive is pretty long to get to my grandmothers. I'll post pics then. However, i DID bring the Mauser. I'll post those pics today when I have an opportunity.

Good to hear it! :) When you do more photos, you should had a note to show that it is not just an image you got somewhere. You can write Tierra Y Libertad or Viva La Revolution or No Pasaran! or something, just so the people on this thread can have proof that it is yours! Of course, I believe you. :D

Incidentally, was your granddad a Neo-Nazi or just a collector, do you reckon?

Ah, I posted before noticing is. I did not realize you meant a Mauser rifle. Actually it is quite topical as I have been reading a lot about the Mexican Revolution, again, and it was one of the main weapons of the war.

He wasn't a Nazi. He was a HUGE WWII collector. I guarantee he had a million more of these things, kept in other boxes around the house. My grandmother doesn't want to let go of these things for obvious reasons, but the Mauser, the Signature, the flag, and the armband are mine!

well at least i know it isnt a well orchestrated april fools joke.

shit son, sell your other mausers and just get a Hakim(keep your grand daddys one for sentimental value and the sickle and hammer). both fire 8mm Mauser.

I'm saving up for a Full-Auto AK47 Atm.. The market price is $16,000, so I have a looonnnggg way to go.

just get a semi-auto one and by the searing pin and other parts online. AKs in CA go for $800-1200

and, im assuming it is LEGAL to do so in Pennsylvania. if it isnt, then dont take my advise.

I got one for 300 in PA, it's a Romy. Unfortunately, per the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986, an individual/trust/LLC cannot own a machine gun manufactured after May 19, 1986.

If you were to get a automatic rifle, buying a SKS would be a lot cheaper, and so would buying ammo for it. (if you want a foreign military weapon.) Plus, I don't think those Hakim's were very reliable in the time they were used.

Rusty Shackleford
3rd April 2011, 01:07
SKS fires the same ammo as an AK47. 7.62x39 is cheap.

so i guess yeah, modifying it would technically not be legal then.

You can still do it.. If you want to spend 10 years in jail, and pay a 250,000 dollar fine
