So the DPRK is building an army of children guitar geniuses. But why?
HA, seriously, though, that is pretty impressive.

That is awesome. The DPRK just seems to have awesome sounding music. Like "There is no Motherland without you," "The Song of General Kim Il Sung," and "The song of General Kim Jong Il."
It's actually kind of sad to see this video though, because this kids have probably been forced to play guitar for hours a day just so it will look like the DPRK produces superior children or something.

I agree. Some of their propaganda pieces are unbelievably well orchestrated. They take the idea of propaganda to a whole new level. I also feel bad for the kids probably getting forced to practice this stuff though.

Yeah, and this kid is forced to play the drums that good.
Jesus fucking Christ, I don't support DPRK either, but there ARE talented kids, even in North Korea, you morons.
Meh, this kid blows them all out of the water...

Make sure to listen to the whole thing. The big crescendo at the end is gold!!!
DPRK doesn't have great music in my opinion, but it's much better than ROK music.

I wouldn't worry about it. Guaranteed room and board are not to be sniffed at in North Korea, and it's not as if the alternative is frolicking in the meadows all day. At least if they ever get out they'll have marketable skills, which isn't bad in a country where even doctors and scientists are taught such out-of-date material that they all have to take crappy minimum wage jobs if they ever get to the South.

thanks for posting this. it's important for people to understand that north koreans enjoy music just like anyone else. that gets lost in the west's anti-dprk propaganda.
