"I don't mind if we bomb Libya so long as we don't do more than that".
-AA-
He doesn't understand anything. The entire purpose of "bombing" Iraq or Lybia or any nation isn't to get rid of some dictator it's an economic investment. This investment will see no returns unless a puppet government is installed. This takes some degree of occupation. This has always been the purpose of war. For thousands of years. From Rome to England's rule up to the current American dynasty. Anyhow, just "bombing" a country involves massive civilian casualties. He seems to have no problem with he only seems to be worried about "how much it will cost". Id cost is his worry then he should be for occupation- unless he's aware the working class is being made to pay for these wars of course but I doubt he's that aware.

Yes, that was quite non-nuanced, but I think that he was ironic - unlike for example the Swedish Left Party which is criticising the Swedish government for not bombing Libya.
What I find the best in his video was the definition of "the tumour".

I think it's funny because the video opens up with an advertisement.

Whats more funny is that if you click "transcribe audio", when you reach the part where he says "we all love war hahaha bomb them fucking assholes" (0:43) the audio transcribes as: "Not at all" in the part of "bombing their fucking assholes"
Also transcribes "motherfuckers" as "lawyers" (08:46)

What do you think of the fact that he has this seemingly passionate relationship with the islamophobic- imperialist-apologist & media-savvy self-advertising egomaniac Howard Bloom and proclaims this fellows book on Islam being an "evil empire" one of his favourites (The Lucifer Principle). Bloom also published a book on how capitalism is the natural order and the only rational choice. I think TJ gets paid by Bloom to kiss his arse.

I really like the Amazing Atheist, he may be kind of an ass, but he is really funny and he seems fairly smart, even if I disagree on somethings he says.

I don't think he got radical at all, let alone "more" radical. He's just a really angry liberal.

Yep, but imagine him as a talk show host? He is a lot tougher than anything else the Liberals could offer.

I don't enjoy his political commentary as much as I enjoy watching him rage over the stupidity of the ultraconservatism of American culture and consumerism.

That's because even HBO would probably get complaints if they had a talk show where someone just yelled at a camera for a half hour with every other word being fuck, asshole, etc.

And exactly what do most conservative talk show hosts do?

Well since they're all about "family values," their rhetoric tends to be more "family friendly."

If he had actual socialist analysis maybe- the posts in the last thread you started concerning this guy kinda shed light into his personality although all one need really do is watch his video's, such as the one in this thread. I don't think it's a radical analysis at all but the in your face style could indeed attract many people to socialism just as it does to conservatism. The thing is, people like to listen to people who are sensationalists (Bill Oriley/ Glen Beck). If we could somehow combine sensationalism with actual true hard facts/socialist analysis that would be great but I don't think AA is the man to do so. Maybe if we gave Maoist Rebel news a bottle full of xanax laced whiskey? Nope. I don't see him working out either. We do need younger fresher dare I say more entertaining faces helping promote socialism though. Unfortunately this is the mindframe in America- explosions and high octane performance cars not "boring" lectures at university.

Yell at a camera for fifteen minutes without expletives and then cry about conspiracy theories for the other fifteen?

So what if I think his little rants are cute. Crucify me. He actually blocked me on youtube. Called me a revisionist anarcho trot. :) I need to change that to my tendency.

i just want to let everyone know that if it weren't for this man helping turn me into an angry Liberal, I probably would not be posting on this forum right now. So I do kind of think he is useful in slowly turning people to the Left because he's (slightly) part of the reason why I did.

That's probably Pat Condell. He's gone bonkers with his mad raving about muslim invasion (and I recall TAA actually distanced himself from him after he and Thunderf00t begun their whining about the "Ground Zero Mosque"). Would be quite hard for AA to vote for UKIP, seeing as he doesn't even live in the UK.

I believe TAA criticized Pat Condell for supporting the British National Party, am I correct? thunderf00t and Pat Condell have disguised their bigotry and islamophobia by making it seem like it's because they're anti-theists, and I appreciate that the TheAmazingAtheist called Pat Condell out on that.

I did think the end was kind of radical, honestly. He seemed to be talking about massive redistribution of wealth by taking Beck and the others money. He also seemed almost talking about revolution when he said we need to aggressively fight conservatives and make Congress see that if he don't work for the people, than the people will fight against them.

Not as bad as when he has that despicable Bloom fellow come by for a show via telephone. That's annoying.
He blocked me from commenting on youtube for suggesting Bloom was an imperialist apologist and not all that rad. TAA seems to worship him, but a little monetary contribution might as well be behind that - or well, I hope that's why. TAA always presented him as the "smartest man" he had ever encountered, yet he spewed nothing but the typical generic rubbish expected of someone who brags about being employed by the Department of Defen(c)se.

I always loved how arrogant Howard Bloom is about himself too, he literally says he's a new groundbreaking scientist that is just as important as Darwin and Dawkins.

He talks about how it doesn't 'generate wealth' like capitalism does today. His argument fails because 'generating wealth' actually means the same as what would be 'fraud"'in the 'free market' system; exploitation of workers.
It also fails because a free market system would not consider unfair wages 'fraud' at all as long as it is "non-coercive".

A lot of American kids are like that.
They know about Imperialism, about how Capitalism works and how corrupt society is. But they simply take that as the natural order and are shrugging their shoulders.

I also want to point out that this is the top rated comment on the video.
This video got me fired up. I have been absolutely PISSED at the the world is coming to, and what pisses me off more is how NOBODY SEEMS TO GIVE A SHIT!!!
We need to storm the white house, storm wall street with sheer numbers and take it over by FORCE!!! Start America over, start a new constitution that is SOCIALISTIC for god's sake. Everyone has been sucked into this propaganda that socialism is bad. Remember that its the corporate douche-bags who are telling you this. Ronald Reagan is one.
