well...religion currently is responsible for your thread and therefore thread title....which is sort of like purgatory to read ;)

But religion teaches live is a sort of like a sandbox RPG and the choices you make in situations of temptation offer you reputation points. If you make the right choices you get positive points and if you make the wrong choices you get negative reputation points. If you have gathered enough reputation points at the point your character dies you gain acces to the next level. This can either be a nice relaxed level where you are basically enjoying the serenity and comfort of a very few boring people....or a level full of party, fire and interesting people...which one you get depends on the amount of points you accumulated. Sometimes there is a server glitch and/or you have not gathered enough points either way....and then your load time will be somewhat longer. This state is called purgatory.

Now interestingly enough the developer set the theme for the RPG in a sort of fatalistic modern realism apocalyps setting instead of the traditional high-fantsy setting. Why he did this is unknown. But it is by some considered the programmers best artistic work. Which...according to others is telling about the developers talent.

In any case the whole world is basically populated by players...which heavilly compete with each other and have devided into several factions. Some factions you can join freely while others require you to conform to certain prerequisites. All factions compete with one another in an effort to gain control over the game and its resources....therefore there are a lot of temporary alliances, secret alliances and offcourse numerous fueds and wars.

There is only one intelligent species to chose from at the start. In which you can play either male or female (as by the latest update it is possible to change certain features during game play including gender. Unfortunately some players consider this cheating) from several sub races. Asian is a popular trend these days...while caucasian seems to be on the decline. There are an unlimited amount of classes...The class wizzard has been redefined to for the non-high fantasy setting. Mostly this class will be involving lots of money and slight of hands and will not involve actual magic (though the traditional spell "deep pockets" still features in this game).

There is no main story line and the decision and actions of the player make up the main adventure. Though this gives incredibly freedom in choices it can be also very limiting since there are in effect no rules to protect n00bs from the experienced ones. Some players argue that the freedom is in fact very limited because of the continuous struggle for dominance which heavilly favors longer existing factions which have gained more control over game resources.

Some argue that they find it very limiting that you can only make one character and that there are no save points throughout the game. And this is certainly a drawback especially since there is no reload or respawn.

Though some player factions have claimed to have discovered an easter egg hidden somewhere in the world which allows for endless respawns untill you get it right and have gathered the much needed character points for advancement to the next level. They say this easter egg will also allow you to play other, non intelligent or less intelligent species.

Most are fexed by the fact that the manual seems to be missing which forces players to 'make it up' as they go along....though several claim they have ancient copies of portions of the manual which specifically state which choices gain positive and which choice gain negative character points.

There are some reported bugs in the game. Some claim that they gathered enough character points but they got a blue screen of death when the new level was supposed to load. They say there is no new level at all and that the game, like the cake, is just a lie. (don't ask about the cake)

Some have pointed out that, since there is no n00b protection, low level characters who die will not have had a chance to accumulate enough character points. There have been speculations on ancient copies of the manual which may offer some insight. But since nobody knows which manual is the most factual they can claim contradicting things.

Some people claim that low level characters are usually high on charisma and that they will get a free pass because they really have not made any negative character choices either. While others claim that they will clogg up the system which will result in long load times.

There is also a group of players who claim that based on the copies of the ancient manual that players begin with a preconstructed character with either a large or small portion of character predetermined at a certain level towards either positive or negative.

This is pretty much up to speculation because in none of the manuals is there a description on how to acces the character creation sheets.

In fact because there are several contradicting copies of the manual floating around there is a heavy discussion which can een lead to all out wars over which of the copies is the most authorative and correct one. It is claimed some of the manuals are in fact forgeries and people can become very combattative over this issue.

Nobody knows exactly what the new levels look like. Though some have found hints in the copies of the manuals. Most agree howeverr that the new levels will contain a shitload of new features and hope the lack of downloadable content will be fixed.

Whatever it is....we will have to wait and see.
