I just thought that many people here would be interested in seeing some of this!

Granted, it may be leftist propaganda, but still, it's worth a read.

A History of Secret U.S. Government
Research Programs

1931 Dr. Cornelius Rhoads, under the auspices of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Investigations, infects human subjects with cancer cells. He later goes on to establish the U.S. Army Biological Warfare facilities in Maryland, Utah, and Panama, and is named to the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. While there, he begins a series of radiation exposure experiments on American soldiers and civilian hospital patients.

1932 The Tuskegee Syphilis Study begins. 200 black men diagnosed with syphilis are never told of their illness, are denied treatment, and instead are used as human guinea pigs in order to follow the progression and symptoms of the disease. They all subsequently die from syphilis, their families never told that they could have been treated.

1935 The Pellagra Incident. After millions of individuals die from Pellagra over a span of two decades, the U.S. Public Health Service finally acts to stem the disease. The director of the agency admits it had known for at least 20 years that Pellagra is caused by a niacin deficiency but failed to act since most of the deaths occurred within poverty-stricken black populations.

1940 Four hundred prisoners in Chicago are infected with Malaria in order to study the effects of new and experimental drugs to combat the disease. Nazi doctors later on trial at Nuremberg cite this American study to defend their own actions during the Holocaust.

1942 Chemical Warfare Services begins mustard gas experiments on approximately 4,000 servicemen. The experiments continue until 1945 and made use of Seventh Day Adventists who chose to become human guinea pigs rather than serve on active duty.

1943 In response to Japan's full-scale germ warfare program, the U.S. begins research on biological weapons at Fort Detrick, MD.

1944 U.S. Navy uses human subjects to test gas masks and clothing. Individuals were locked in a gas chamber and exposed to mustard gas and lewisite.

1945 Project Paperclip is initiated. The U.S. State Department, Army intelligence, and the CIA recruit Nazi scientists and offer them immunity and secret identities in exchange for work on top secret government projects in the United States.

1945 "Program F" is implemented by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). This is the most extensive U.S. study of the health effects of fluoride, which was the key chemical component in atomic bomb production. One of the most toxic chemicals known to man, fluoride, it is found, causes marked adverse effects to the central nervous system but much of the information is squelched in the name of national security because of fear that lawsuits would undermine full-scale production of atomic bombs.

1946 Patients in VA hospitals are used as guinea pigs for medical experiments. In order to allay suspicions, the order is given to change the word "experiments" to "investigations" or "observations" whenever reporting a medical study performed in one of the nation's veteran's hospitals.

1947 Colonel E.E. Kirkpatrick of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission issues a secret document (Document 07075001, January 8, 1947) stating that the agency will begin administering intravenous doses of radioactive substances to human subjects.

1947 The CIA begins its study of LSD as a potential weapon for use by American intelligence. Human subjects (both civilian and military) are used with and without their knowledge.

1950 Department of Defense begins plans to detonate nuclear weapons in desert areas and monitor downwind residents for medical problems and mortality rates.

1950 In an experiment to determine how susceptible an American city would be to biological attack, the U.S. Navy sprays a cloud of bacteria from ships over San Francisco. Monitoring devices are situated throughout the city in order to test the extent of infection. Many residents become ill with pneumonia-like symptoms.

1951 Department of Defense begins open air tests using disease-producing bacteria and viruses. Tests last through 1969 and there is concern that people in the surrounding areas have been exposed.

1953 U.S. military releases clouds of zinc cadmium sulphide gas over Winnipeg, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Fort Wayne, the Monocacy River Valley in Maryland, and Leesburg, Virginia. Their intent is to determine how efficiently they could disperse chemical agents.

1953 Joint Army-Navy-CIA experiments are conducted in which tens of thousands of people in New York and San Francisco are exposed to the airborne germs Serratia marcescent and Bacillus glogigii.

1953 CIA initiates Project MKULTRA. This is an eleven year research program designed to produce and test drugs and biological agents that would be used for mind control and behaviour modification. Six of the subprojects involved testing the agents on unwitting human beings.

1955 The CIA, in an experiment to test its ability to infect human populations with biological agents, releases a bacteria withdrawn from the Army's biological warfare arsenal over Tampa Bay, Fl.

1955 Army Chemical Corps continues LSD research, studying its potential use as a chemical incapacitating agent. More than 1,000 Americans participate in the tests, which continue until 1958.

1956 U.S. military releases mosquitoes infected with Yellow Fever over Savannah, Ga and Avon Park, Fl. Following each test, Army agents posing as public health officials test victims for effects.

1958 LSD is tested on 95 volunteers at the Army's Chemical Warfare Laboratories for its effect on intelligence.

1960 The Army Assistant Chief- of-Staff for Intelligence (ACSI) authorizes field testing of LSD in Europe and the Far East. Testing of the European population is code named Project THIRD CHANCE; testing of the Asian population is code named Project DERBY HAT.

1965 Project CIA and Department of Defense begin Project MKSEARCH, a program to develop a capability to manipulate human behaviour through the use of mind-altering drugs.

1965 Prisoners at the Holmesburg State Prison in Philadelphia are subjected to dioxin, the highly toxic chemical component of Agent Orange used in Vietnam. The men are later studied for development of cancer, which indicates that Agent Orange had been a suspected carcinogen all along.

1966 CIA initiates Project MKOFTEN, a program to test the toxicological effects of certain drugs on humans and animals.

1966 U.S. Army dispenses Bacillus subtilis variant niger throughout the New York City subway system. More than a million civilians are exposed when army scientists drop lightbulbs filled with the bacteria onto ventilation grates.

1967 CIA and Department of Defense implement Project MKNAOMI, successor to MKULTRA and designed to maintain, stockpile and test biological and chemical weapons.

1968 CIA experiments with the possibility of poisoning drinking water by injecting chemicals into the water supply of the FDA in Washington, D.C.

1969 Dr. Robert MacMahan of the Department of Defense requests from congress $10 million to develop, within 5 to 10 years, a synthetic biological agent to which no natural immunity exists.

1970 Funding for the synthetic biological agent is obtained under H.R. 15090. The project, under the supervision of the CIA, is carried out by the Special Operations Division at Fort Detrick, the army's top secret biological weapons facility. Speculation is raised that molecular biology techniques are used to produce AIDS-like retroviruses.

1970 United States intensifies its development of "ethnic weapons" (Military Review, Nov., 1970), designed to selectively target and eliminate specific ethnic groups who are susceptible due to genetic differences and variations in DNA.

1975 The virus section of Fort Detrick's Center for Biological Warfare Research is renamed the Fredrick Cancer Research Facilities and placed under the supervision of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). It is here that a special virus cancer program is initiated by the U.S. Navy, purportedly to develop cancer-causing viruses. It is also here that retrovirologists isolate a virus to which no immunity exists. It is later named HTLV (Human T-cell Leukemia Virus).

1977 Senate hearings on Health and Scientific Research confirm that 239 populated areas had been contaminated with biological agents between 1949 and 1969. Some of the areas included San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Key West, Panama City, Minneapolis, and St. Louis.

1978 Experimental Hepatitis B vaccine trials, conducted by the CDC, begin in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Ads for research subjects specifically ask for promiscuous homosexual men.

1981 First cases of AIDS are confirmed in homosexual men in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, triggering speculation that AIDS may have been introduced via the Hepatitis B vaccine.

1985 According to the journal Science (227:173-177), HTLV and VISNA, a fatal sheep virus, are very similar, indicating a close taxonomic and evolutionary relationship.

1986 According to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (83:4007-4011), HIV and VISNA are highly similar and share all structural elements, except for a small segment which is nearly identical to HTLV. This leads to speculation that HTLV and VISNA may have been linked to produce a new retrovirus to which no natural immunity exists.

1986 A report to Congress reveals that the U.S. Government's current generation of biological agents includes: modified viruses, naturally occurring toxins, and agents that are altered through genetic engineering to change immunological character and prevent treatment by all existing vaccines.

1987 Department of Defense admits that, despite a treaty banning research and development of biological agents, it continues to operate research facilities at 127 facilities and universities around the nation.

1990 More than 1500 six-month old black and Hispanic babies in Los Angeles are given an "experimental" measles vaccine that had never been licensed for use in the United States. CDC later admits that parents were never informed that the vaccine being injected to their children was experimental.

1994 With a technique called "gene tracking," Dr. Garth Nicolson at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, TX discovers that many returning Desert Storm veterans are infected with an altered strain of Mycoplasma incognitus, a microbe commonly used in the production of biological weapons. Incorporated into its molecular structure is 40 percent of the HIV protein coat, indicating that it had been man-made.

1994 Senator John D. Rockefeller issues a report revealing that for at least 50 years the Department of Defense has used hundreds of thousands of military personnel in human experiments and for intentional exposure to dangerous substances. Materials included mustard and nerve gas, ionizing radiation, psychochemicals, hallucinogens, and drugs used during the Gulf War.

1995 U.S. Government admits that it had offered Japanese war criminals and scientists who had performed human medical experiments salaries and immunity from prosecution in exchange for data on biological warfare research.

1995 Dr. Garth Nicolson uncovers evidence that the biological agents used during the Gulf War had been manufactured in Houston, TX and Boca Raton, Fl and tested on prisoners in the Texas Department of Corrections.

1996 Department of Defense admits that Desert Storm soldiers were exposed to chemical agents.

1997 Eighty-eight members of Congress sign a letter demanding an investigation into bioweapons use and Gulf War Syndrome.

no matter how bad I and others here would like to believe that, i highly doubt the majority of that

Felicia

I wouldn't be completely opposed to it being truthful. You can't just publish complete lies and not risk facing consequences.

hmm, im not saying that its all lies, but the context they put it in has to be highly exxagerated

we'll see.

It's impossible to know unless you do the research into each example.

its possible, just seems a little far fetched though

Felicia

is it? are you really that surprised?

Canada has tested chemical weapons on it's people. Causing horrific side effects, from full body blistering and massive skin pealing, to deforming and mutating the genitalia of the men involved in the testing. They were never told what was happening, neither were their families. and even to this day, I don't think that they have received compensation for what happened. That's not common knowledge to canadians, but it's absolutely true.

It's all very possible.

I dont doubt that much of it actually, especially the AIDS stuff. I read a lot about that (AIDS theories) in my university class on AIDS in the US. We discussed theories on how it started, and of course there are many reasons, but the one that US government started is a bit popular among those who have been oppressed by the government and who are now suffering from HIV/AIDS in high rates.

I wouldnt put it past the U.S. When it comes to ethics, they have no boundaries it seems- well, at least in past years.

The 1932 Tuskegee syphilis study is a true story.. For those interested, there is a movie recently released in DVD under that same name.
Most of what is posted is true.

The CDC first pointed to Haiti as being to source of AIDS (no joke). But then it was later proven that the early cases of HIV/AIDS in Haitians where in those people who had sexual contact with American tourists.

lol, that was a real kicker :D

Yeah, I agree. Some of this stuff is surprising, but not all that unbelievable on the US's part.

That dvd sounds like a good watch.

The American people are just guinea pigs for the government. I really wish there was someway to expose the truth and tell every american patriot this, and see how they take it.

hahaha

Yeah, the stuff on AIDS is interesting to think about, but the thoeories on how AIDS started itself is very fasciniating. Check out And the Band Played On.

I do not doubt much of that timeline. I have heard a few of those stories individually from credible sources. Does anyone know a credible source or database that can substantiate this? A book? A .gov or .org website? Some of this, being 50-70 years old, would have to be declassified by now...

The Pommies tested their nukes on the Australian army, no compensation or anything.

I don't doubt the AIDS stuff at all. I once did a 1000 word documented essay on the subject and there are certainly too many coincidences to count. There's a very strange link between the epidemiology of the AIDS virus and that of something called swine flu.

In 1972, an autopsy of the cadaver of a soldier from Ft. Benning, GA revealed the presence of swine flu. The disease had not been seen on American shores since the end of World War I when hundreds of servicemen returned from France and Spain infected with the virus. A hysteria over an impending pandemic ensued, and by the end of 1973 the local CDC's around the country were innoculating in excess of 2 million people a week.

However, in 1981, when members of the San Francisco CDC reported before a congressional subcommitee that there was an retrovirus threatening to become an epidemic, our government did nothing for another five years. Here's the question that no one has answered to my satisfaction: Why was nothing done about a real disease affecting real people in '81 and millions of people vaccinated against a virtually non-existant disease in '73?

The answer is two pronged: In 1981 the AIDS was believed to affect what the powers in Washington considered "undesirable" (homosexuals, intraveinious drug users, and blacks). It was not until 1986 when tennis legend Arthur Ash announced his infection via blood transfusion that funding for research and treatment was introduced. Also, in 1973, I believe (and this is what most of you will probably have a hard time with) that the vaccinations weren't against swine flu. It is my hypothesis that they were instead vaccinating the core population against AIDS.

Think about it. According to a Time magazine article published in 1996, the first known animal sample of AIDS was taken from a monkey in 1954. It manifested itself as a variation called SIV (Simeon Immunodeficiency Virus). The first known human sample was taken in 1959. According to the article, there was a "Western backed study" of blood borne pathogens that took place in modern day Kinshasa (then part of the Belgian Congo). An unkown male walked into the testing center, gave a sample, and then dissappeared never to be heard from again. The sample was analysed and stuck in a freezer, not to be rediscovered until 1996 by American authorities.

Ask yourself this: What research physician in his right mind analyses a blood sample infected with a previously unknown virus and doesn't report it? One would think he/she would want his name in the paper due to the noteriety usually accompanied by this sort of thing. The answer is simple. One in the employ of some intelligence agency, that's who.

Did you hear that people are starting to ask questions about why the Canadian government took it upon themselves to dump most of our chemical stockpile in the ocean Felicia? Where did they dump it you say? The Grand Banks. Brrraaaavvvooo. I am beginning to really understand the concept of "ignorance is bliss". Also, old Stormin' Norman wanted to invade Iraq the first time, know what one of the reasons was against it? A horse named First Flight. PLEASE read those books, and begin to see the fucking futility of the next large scale war, if and/or when it happens.

I believe that we have massive stock piles of chemical weapons stored off the Nova Scotia coast in the ocean. Mustard gas, perhaps nerve gas aswell. It's been there for several decades.

speaking of bio weapons.

I heard that they can use butterflies to kill. By hatching the eggs wrapped in a cloth with the individual scent of the person they want killed on it. They put some kind of poison on the feet of the butterflies, and the butterflies will search and search to find the person that the scent belongs too. Then will scratch them, leaving them with the poison......... the day after I heard about this, I was walking home from work, and a butterfly flew up to me and landed on my sleeve..... needless to say, it was a bit wierd, lol :D

Not stored Felicia, DUMPED! Considering the size of the fishing grounds there and the number of countries that use it, you would think that they would make better decisions on where to dump the trash.
The Americans made a dump site, outside Denver l think, so deep and pumped so much shit down the hole that the started causing techtonic tremors.

Alright, "dumped." But, seriously, if this stuff leaked (and last I heard, the government was going to dig the berrels up) we'd have a bigger problem than depleted fish stocks, it would probably strip the ocean completely. Morons in government........ <_<

The story about the CIA and LSD is true. The is a famous case about how the CIA used some people in Montreal for years in the 50's as guinea pigs for their LSD experiments. They were given very little if no info about the project.

The earliest record of an AIDS case is a British sailor , who died of it in the 1950's.

well.

There's a movie about that. It's called "the secret room" or something similar to that. The CIA sponsored the experiments, but I believe it was done with the concent of the "hospital," I'm not sure if the canadian government knew anything of it.

I don't know if we're thinking of the same thing, this is the CIA sponsored program for mind control, right? They were testing a drug that they believed they could use to control people.....

my friend just told me about the LSD experiments.

but i can one-up everyone else's input on this.
go to drunkstunts.com and go to the video portion of the site. they have 2 clips of actual footage of these experiments and they actually are...

fucking hilarious.

they were one of the first ones put on the site so the link is probably at the very bottom of the list. they've got some other pretty funny stuff and pretty amazing stuff. they have a clip of a kid that is 4 years old making 18 shots in a row in basketball. some are 25 footers!

anyway there is something to kind of lighten up the mood. the LSD experiments were probably the most harmless of any mentioned before. the rest are too horrible to think about. i'd rather say that i didn't believe they happened too but i can't help but wonder. we at least know some of them happened for sure, the others i guess we can assume happened and if not then aren't the tuskegee experiments terrible enough for this country to be ashamed forever.

Yes, actually that was the rest of my research paper.

Several years ago I heard a report on CNN that researchers at the University of Arizona had developed a vaccine that appeared to repel the AIDS virus in lab animals (rats). They petitioned the FDA for approval of human testing and were summarily denied. The odd thing about the FDA's denial of testing was that the doctors involved in the study were not seeking outside participants. They were so confident in the vaccine that they were willing to inject themselves with it and then inject themselves with small dosages of the AIDS virus.

A couple of years later, there was an international AIDS summit held in the U$ (forgive me if I don't recall the city). The commonly acknowledged leading researchers in the world, a husband and wife team from Switzerland, attended this summit in an effort to push for more funding of vaccine research.

After the summit, the two hopped a plane destined for Switzerland and the labs in which they had spent so much time. Their flight, Swissair 111, was doomed. Shortly after takeoff, the jet blinked on and off the radar several times before disappearing completely. It had crashed into the ocean. The resulting FAA investigation into the crash was inconclusive; to this day the cause is officially "undetermined." This even after recovery and careful examination of the "black box" and flight recorder. The whole thing was rather conspicuos considering Swissair had not had a single safety incident in over 30 years, something no other airline at the time could boast. (All of this information came from a Time Magazine special on the crash; the conclusions and suppositions are my own.)

What was most odd about the crash was the nature of the radar, black box, and flight recorder readings. I had recently heard about the testing of an "electromagnetic pulse generator" on the highways of New Mexico. According to authorities, the electromagnetic pulse would cause electrical systems (such as those found in automobiles) to short out. The pulse would cause a dysfunction, function, dysfunction, function reaction in computerized automotive systems and cause them to peter out. The system was billed at the time as a way of "safely ending high speed chases" and at the time considered a success. (CNN.)

According to the Time Magazine special on the crash, this all sounded strangely comperable to what happened to the instruments of Swissair 111. So I looked for help. I consultated with a friend of mine (who was not especially prone to conspiracy theories) who happened to be a physics major. I asked him if it would be possible to down an airliner with an electromagnetic pulse. He seemed to think it would be quite easy. According to him, all you would need is a 100 megawatt generator to produce the electromagnetic pulse required to reach the necessary altitude. This, he claimed, could fit in the back of any 20 foot power boat. I then asked him, "Wouldn't this damage the boat?" His response was, "No. Not as long as it wasn't running." In other words, the pulse only affected electrical systems which were currently active.

You draw your own conlusions.
