End game? Admin official says: "we have multiple scenarios, but none of them end with Qadaffi in power."

Humanitarianism? Who, for example, is covering the Gulf Cooperation Council's invasion of Bahrain in parallel to the civil war in Libya? Because the former is our clients crushing protestors, the latter was til the late 90s, and now is again, an official enemy. There's no real difference between the Bahrain assault and what we used to squeal about like stuck pigs when the Warsaw Pact would roll into Prague.

People should notice the timing. Just like Egypt, the U.S. hems and haws about resistance until they have no choice or until they have a better option. Mubarak became untenable at the 11th hour, so the U.S. got to dump him, pretend ...they were for it all along, while working to try to make sure the Armed Forces don't have to make any more substantive concessions. How could it be otherwise? Public polling indicates that most Middle Easterners consider the U.S. and Israel the prominent threats in the region. So its reflexive that substantive democracy is a grave threat to the United States. Therefore it will work against it.

In Libya, however, we couldn't commit to intervention until we were sure the popular unrest (which, in the first week, was pan-national, including working-class neighborhoods in Tripoli) had subsided, and Eastern anti-Gaddafi tribal leaders...hips stepped into a leadership void. Once we had a little council filled with yesterday's Gaddafi lackeys, monarchists, and privatization (of course!) specialists, and it was on the ropes, then we unleash thousands-pound bombs and missiles across Libya, which almost certainly will kill more people than the existing Libyan tribal civil war (just like American sanctions and war killed far more Iraqis than Saddam's security apparatus), and our pet council will need all kinds of "aid" naturally once it has been conceded the oil fields near Sirt and aid that will be funneled, naturally, back into U.S. contractors and investment.

OPPOSE IMPERIALIST SLAUGHTER! Hundreds of Tomahawk cruise missiles are pelting Libya, killing Libyan workers and commoners. Within a month, as always before, we will have easily out-slaughtered Gaddafi's "evil" forces when it comes to the blood of Libyan innocents. Obama is committing, apparently, to regime change.

No room for compromise with imperialism. No to Obama's Iraq!
