Welcome. I've got a comrade or three in Arizona. I've heard the anarchist scene is significant in Tucson. What are your impressions?

Thanks all for the replies. :) There's a pretty solid group of folks down here. There's the Dry River Collective here in Tucson where they have plenty of disscusions, they have books/zines on anarchism and different struggles. I also like to frequent a locally owned coffee shop/book store called Revolutionary Grounds. Lot's of books on anarchism/communism/sexism, etc etc. I've met a few comrades there while browsing through books. So yes there's definitely a significant anarchist movement in Tucson, although you hear more of it in Phoenix. Just letting everyone here know this account will probably be de-activated. I had created 2 other accounts but never received an activation email but with this one i did. I asked Rjevan to keep my original account i made which is under the name No_Leaders. Just waiting for a activation email to be re-sent so i can use the account, just letting you all know. So i'll still be here!

Thanks all for the replies :) I typed out a whole reply but i guess it didn't post. Just to let everyone know i will be using a different name under No_Leaders, as i created this account since i had never received an activation email. Rjevan was nice to let me know some other new users had this issue to and i can get to using my original account, so i'll still be here!
As for the anarchist scene here it is pretty nice size, there's a lot that frequent the Dry River Collective, down here in Tucson. They have a lot of neat stuff there, good place for discussions, meeting new people, planning things or just to get informed if you don't know much about anarchism. Also one of my favorite places to goto is this locally owned coffee/book shop called The Revolutionary Grounds. They have books on anarchism, communism, racism, sexism, animal rights etc etc. Plus the food is all vegan friendly and pretty tasty. I've met some comrades there while browsing for books. Although you might not here as much going on as you do from say Phoenix, there's still a lot of us out here, and lot of people working towards fighting capitalism.

Red Salute Comrade and a warm welcome ! it is always good to see someone who wants to beat up the fascist thugs .
I have heard a lot of bad things happening in AZ , I have heard that Latinos are treated badly there, and are locked up in camps.
Is there a potential for future armed insurrection there? Are there any chances we can see a armed guerrilla movement ? Does the terrain suits Guerrilla war in AZ?

I think a guerrilla war would be among one of the worst things to happen in Arizona right now.

I am not sure where you live but here is my understanding of the situation in AZ. But Latinos are "only" locked up in processing facilities while they await deportation, some get charged with crimes and go to AZ jails. But there are no internment type camps.
I don't think an armed insurrection is likely or even constructive at this point in AZ. The terrain in AZ is desert and mountains from what I could see, not ideal in terms of terrain for the guerrilla.
I had a comrade who traveled to Arizona to fight SB 1070 and do some community organizing. i always get the name wrong but they formed community non-violent protection groups called comitees de defense del barrio, or neighboorhood defence comittees. they block police from conducting raids etc. also they have a radio show/station? now

There are quite a few racists especiallly closer to the border. i.e. the minute men and other vigilantes most of which are affiliated with white supremacist groups in some form or another. Just the ignorance people have is astounding really but i guess it shouldn't be a shocker really given the society and system we live in.
Yes latinos are thrown into big camps courtesy of sheriff joe. Not just latinos but many different minorities. Illegals are locked up in american prisons and if in sheriff joe's prison they're required to speak english and made to watch american propaganda and recite pledge of allegiance etc etc, It's all a bunch of fascist racist garbage. I don't think arizona would be the best place for armed insurrection though. Not to mention the terrain is a lot of desert, mountains, canyons, etc. Oh we also have senator russell pearce an anti-immigrant who is known to have ties with local neo-nazis. What's new right? But there are a lot of comrades out here standing up against fascism, and all the racist rhetoric that goes on around here. :)

Punch Whitey for me, and tell him it was for a Mexican! (And by Whitey I mean a White Supremacist.)
