What kind of consideration should we give to the workers in the Fukushima plants in Japan? Currently many are staying and working to avoid a disaster, ignoring the fact that they are getting doses of radiation much higher than other people and exceeding health standards.

Should this be an example of heroic worker action?

Keep in mind, many of these workers are professionals with degrees and advanced training; they are not the same as your average factory worker.

What difference does it make if they have degrees or not? They're risking their lives to save millions....

I'd expand the exclusion zone, and simply distribute medicine and ect. I can't think of much more to do to help the nation.

All the consideration you can give.

I really don't care if they are workers or whatever...if you are willing to sacrifice yourself to avert a disaster for so many then that is exacly what you deserve.

That said...one wonders where the owners and financers of the plant are at this point in time. I will bet they are nowhere near the plant at all....coordinating from outside the exclusion zone.

What hindsight said. I view them as heroic, risking their lives to save people, knowing that they're getting huge amounts of radiation. I respect them so much...

Uh, they are still working class, bro.

Yyyup. Managers are nowhere near it. It's just plant technicians there now.
