Soviet scientists contributed their fair share to the bank of knowledge in the 20th century. From psychology to the heavens.

They went from an agrarian society to having the first human in space within a lifetime!

And they didn't even have to use Nazi's to do so (as was the case in America).

Not only Nazi's; USSR never have the facility of brain drain from around the world while USA is actually run by immigrant brains. In my opinion, I have said it on many threads that one of the main reason of advancement of USA and imperialist countries is the supply of brain to them from around the world, specially from Asia, Africa and Latin America. Without that, I am pretty sure that USA would lag behind USSR in scientific and technological front if, like USSR, they have to depend on their own indigenous brain and resource.
Just look at the Nobel laureates from USA, you can see that a huge portion of them are immigrants.

The American space program was run by Nazi's but ya, the US government does recruit anyone and everyone from anywhere and anywhere.

Are you serious?
The soviets controlled much of the equipment, hardware, and scientists captured in the new Soviet territories. As a matter of fact, the V2 production and launch facilities were captured by Soviet forces.
So, nazi science helped both sides.

Ya, but they don't have the facility of huge immigration around the world from their side. As far as I can remember, during the last days of Third Reich, a huge number of Nazi and Nazi sympathizers began to flee to west because UK-USA joint force was much acceptable to them than the Red Army.
Moreover, it's a fact that CIA appointed former Nazi's after WWII and during the so-called cold war period and moreover, USA had the influx of Nazi sympathizers from other European countries like Romania, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria etc.

Yea, Im not denying that. Im just saying that Soviet scientists too had help from Nazi Germany is all.

What you have said means Nazi Germany or the Nazi party directly helped USSR. But I hope you know that it's not true. Analyzing German arms and technology and using their knowhow for own purpose doesn't mean getting help from them. By that standard, Nazi Germany also got help from USSR as they copied the slanted armor innovation of T-34 in their later tank and armored vehicles.

They may have done some back engineering here and there but it's not like Werner Von Braun headed their version of NASA or anything. Every nation back engineers. I've also never heard of an Anarchist Bolshevik? Libertarian Marxist yes but usually the anarchists are quite hostile towards Bolshevism. Ah, who cares?

Those are two different scenarios, but ok.
And I didnt say the Nazis directly aided the USSR. But indirectly, yes. My impression was always that the Soviets had gotten the bulk of the hardware, and a few key scientists, and that the Americans' position was the inverse. The Soviets worked diligently to understand each piece of captured hardware but treated their captured scientists as a "cheat sheet." Their first indigenous rocket (R-1) was a direct copy of the V-2, built completely with Soviet industrial technology. The Americans on the other hand, had the know how and the minds (nazi scientists) but absolutely none of the hardware or technology.

Hard to believe! Any source on that matter.

Americans actually got a great deal of hardware as well as a bunch of scientists through operation paperclip.

Nope. The West had plenty of captured V2's to play with until about 1952. The difference is that the Soviets actively developed ballistic missile technology while the Americans ignored it (thanks in part to Vannevar Bush) until the 1950's.
Post-Sputnik they closed that gap pretty fast.

The Soviet Union had a population equal to that of the United States, varying from 15 different Republics.
Its not fair to argue that the US used intellectuals from other countries while the SU didn't.

Is anyone on this forum a moon-landing conspiracy theorist? I thought those conspiracy theorists didn't really exist until I found one on another site. Are there any here?

Yes, any local high school history textbook. lol.
Im not denying anything, just pointing out that the USSR too benefited enormously from captured nazi science.

The 15 different republics were part of USSR and do you want to mean that USSR too have the supply of human resources around the world (specially from third world countries) like USA? That's ridiculous.

The question is how much? At least they don't have Von Braun as their head of space programme.
