I don't hate capitalism, and I'm not a communist.
I buy music of artists that I respect. I respect them because I know that they give back to the community and are not "in it for the money".
If it is a known fact that a certain corporation exploits workers, I will not buy their product.
But I admit that it is very hard to do, and sometimes impossible, which is why steps need to be taken to make corporations responsible.

I'm glad you just opened this 'thread.' It proves that you are just another kid looking for drama. You have no idea what you are talking about, what Communism is actually about and, above all, you lack creativity. You should at least try to be a little bit creative, that's all I expect from wealthy kids like you.
It is so damn pathetic. I guess you think you are very clever now, eh, having crushed all of our ideals with that magic post, eh? Concentrate. Think. Concentrate. I tell you what, stop watching MTV, stop believing everything your parents tell you and stop making your fascist teacher proud. Instead, try to think. And concentrate, damnit, it is not that difficult.

Even if they were "in it for the money" you would still buy their stuff because you like it.

If you can give me the address of some sort of worker's co-operative or Socialist run CD or Video-games company, then it will be gratefully received.
See, what I'm trying to say to you is that there is not such thing as a non-capitalist good; nearly all goods, with the exception of a few, are illegitimately produced by Capitalist businessmen exploiting workers. There is no other way to survive nor to enjoy music without having to buy Capitalist merchandise, we are forced to live this way untill we revolt.
You fail to see the big picture; how the working class is exploited and why most of the world lives in poverty. I try to exploit as little people indirectly as I can manage, by not buying large amounts of anything and staying away from brands I know exploit sweatshop labour.

I don't buy video games anyway. Waste of time. If I really want them, I'll borrow and copy them.

uh, this is the shitiest argument i have ever heard. This is the kind of crap that i was able to refute when my 5th grade classmates first found out that I was a communist.
It's impossible to live in capitalism while boycotting all capitalists, that is why capitalism must be crushed. If we could live and work while not contributing to capitalist oppression, and if the working class could work and not be oppressed and exploited, then I don't that capitalsim would really be a problem, eh?

I'll probably get stomped to shit for saying this but oh well, l have to learn. What are your thoughts on bands like Pearl Jam and what they did the last round with ticket bastard, l mean master? Would it be better to support bands like that? That's who l support, bands that stand up for the rights of their fans. I can't wait to see what happens when ticket master starts the bidding for big name concert tickets. Thoughts/stomping please.

Loknar,
That's bullshit, you don't know me well enough, or at all, to make a statement like that!
Caliban,
Pearl Jam is really the only band that I listen to right now.

Oh Yeah you are right. I see it now.
your deep and novel insight has revealed the total folly of my views.
.............
Socialism is an attribute of societies chum. It is not an athestic religion you can practise all on your lonesome. An intelligent socialist believes in a better society and works to bring it about, he or she does not rather foolishly try to reject the world he actually finds himself in, but revels in it and exploits its weaknesses for the benefit of himself and socialism.
I'm a Socialist and I LURVE to take money off cappie pricks. Nothing makes my heart sing more. The fact that in a socialist world I would not be allowed ( or for that matter be given the opportunity) to pull the strokes has bugger all to do with it since I'm not in one.
All dumb cappies think that 'commies' are puritans living their lives in sackcloth and ashes. We are not. My intention is to make all yoiur cappie riches belong to us and enjoy the process of aquiring it. When we have enough of it I'll laff in your faces and take the rest off ya too.
Right now comrades the goal is winning; not being socialists, but becoming socialist. Dont be fooled by idjits who preach that you can do this without playing by cappie rules, those are the rules of the game right now. But we can, of course, use those rules to aquire the power to change them.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

"Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labor of others by means of such appropriations."
clear enough for y'all?

For lack of need to complicate things as much as I'm sure everyone else will, there are some enjoyable aspects of capitalism. All of us understand this, whether or not some are embarassed to admit it for fear of looking hypocritical.
The same can be said for you. If you love capitalism so much, why do you attend a public school paid for by taxes?
What it all comes down to is that we have a lot more to hate about capitalism than we have to love.
And asking for free shit from companies doesn't always work, as fun as it may be. But it's good to see you're at least using your head.

Man, I get free shit from the entertainment industry all the time. A couple weeks ago I got a shitload of free tickets to see an advance screening to the new Jack Black movie. I puffed a bowl in the theater. It was awesome.

In first place I dont "buy music". CDs here are very expensive thanks to capitalism (surprise surprise...) so I survive by listening to my favourite radio and by downloading some songs (but I dont do it anymore because lately i am not very much into music)
And about games... they are even more expensive (50$ when I can get them for 1 and its the same thing excepting for the big box), so I usually ask friends to lend me some games from time to time.
And I dont buy things from huge corporations.
Oh and btw when we buy you capitalist scum it is for surviving and covering our basic needs, in the same way you would have to cooperate if we were living in our type of society. Or you would go around killing people? Or you would escape to miami as stupid cubans do?

Whats evil are the corporations who exploit their workers....they monopolize the market so that certain products/goods sell at a certain standard price so they can make the most profit possible and give as little as possible to the workers. We LIVE in a capitalist society.....how can we live a NON capitalist life in it? It's like playing basketball in a baseball game....doesn't make sense and can't be done. By the way...I dont buy music or video games..if i were to buy music...they would have to be TERRIBLY good and i only buy used cd's...so they make squat from me...

Not another one of these stupid topics again! Arrg! We should make a sticky about this crap.
Hey since you all hate capitalism. Why do you buy music and video games and such?
Because we fucking live here! Actually, most of us just pirate our music and video games offline. I have only payed for a couple of CDs in my entire lifetime. Anyways. We live here, what do you expect. If you want, we can abandon all things capitalistic, and run around the country naked. Oh wait, that's illegal. Yeah. We have to pay taxes. Additionally, the same can be said to you. If you are a capitalist/american, why are half your items made in China and Pakistan. Why do you have baseball teams? After all, the concept of a team is a 'communal' concept, and therefore 'communistic'. Aren't you going against 'independence' and 'capitalism' when you have teams, armies, clubs, orginizations, and marriages?
Arnt you suppose to be commiunist and should be asking companies for that stuff for free. Since sell products is evil and hurts workers. :D
Yeah; I'm going to go up to Bill Gates right now and ask him for a free computer. That'll work! As for products that are 'evil' most of us here (who aren't all communists/socialists) try to avoid buying products that we know use slave-labor. (Nike, etc.) Although, still, we must buy things in this society in order to survive. And as for 'betraying communism' by doing this, I'm sure someone can point you to this:
"The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will
hang them." - V.I Lenin
Yeah, pretty gruesome quote, but there you have it.
