This libertarian is trying to justify the negative health effects on third world workers like in Bhopal by saying "They chose to work there so they deserve it and it raised their standard of living"
Can I get a link showing that 3rd world standard of living was higher before the sweatshops came?

You can't, because it generally wasn't. That, of course, doesn't justify the fact that they are being oppressed and forced to work under conditions that are much worse than what they could be having if the economy was run by the working class.

first, they dont choose it, its either that or starving, its economical slavery.
second, slavery have a bad habit of blowing up in the face of those who are practicing it.
if the guy think in a purely mechanical manner, he will be forced to admit that every system formerly based on slavery created instability, unrest, and violence.
practicing wage slavery is blowing up in our face right now, just look at how the middle east is in complete unrest over food, wages, working hour and freedom, look at the stock market becoming instable due to constant protest.

Most blacks seen a marked standard of living raise by being enslaved by europeans, especiall house slaves.
Does that make it okay?
As far as voluntary goes. Let us say you were washed upon Crusoe's island. Crusoe already claims all the land as his. You either work, and he expropriates what he can, because he owns it. Or you starve do death.
Real voluntary, huh?

The "they chose to work there" thing is total bullshit. They have no choice but to work at a shitty place like that.
If they did something about it (that is, unionize), the libertarian shill would be against that too.
But yeah, people who say "oh well they have a job now so that's good. they pay more than local businesses too, so they're getting the best wages possible!" ignore that money made by a foreign company operating in a 3rd world country gets sent across an ocean. Whereas in a local business, the money stays in the country and economy, which would lead it to improving over time. More business, more competition, and not to mention the fact that the profits can be easily taxed by gov't for infrastructure.
Which, btw, flies in the face of everything idiot libertarians believe. Lassiez-faire economic policies in countries like that lead to monopoly by foreign industry, while interventionist measures lead to a healthier economy over time.
This is why libertarians are the stupidest people on the face of this earth.

Right wing libertarianism is merely "take what you get and like it" wrapped up in pseudo-academic rhetoric.

I would agree, but most of them are broke-ass college kids. They don't "got" nothing. I, the socialist, usally have more investments than these so-called capitalists.

What happens in those countries is all the resources they have are bought out, which means there is no national wealth, then because all the wealth is outside controlled the only place to work is sweat shops.
If those countries could control their own resources the countries could make sure they get good deals for any investment that comes in.

Choice is practically nonexistent for a person who lacks control over the means of production. The fact that he lacks such control is proof that he is forced to sell his labor power to earn a livelihood.
And since this 'selling' of labor power depends on many variables, including market fluctuations, demand-supply, and the worker's qualifications, he can't even choose where or how to sell his labor power and must therefore make a series of compromises with the capitalists, if only to survive.
All this shows that most workers have little choice in these matters, little control over their own destiny.
