Heres what he's missing, many people are dirt dirt poor, exhuasted (from surviving), have to save money so their kids might be able to have some sort of an education or be able to go to the doctor, and really don't really have being a ethical consumer as their top priority, because they need to eat.

"Mom and Pop" small businesses are awesome, big businesses are bad!
Isn't that the gist of what he's saying, petty-bourgeoisie=good, big-bourgeoisie=bad?
He was much funnier when he asked Donald Rumsfeld if he was a lizard-man.

It's like you're surprised that most people on the radio, or in America, or anyhwere, aren't communists.

I'm not surprised that most people aren't communists, I'm surprised that communists are applauding these guys when they go on rants about how the petite-bourgeoisie are so great while big businesses like Walmart are teh evilz!

It doesn't really seems like he's complaining about capitalism, but rather the particular type of capitalism he dislikes. He wants capitalism that favors 'small business' over 'big business' and is probably a social democrat at best. I can't think of any comedian that actually questioned the capitalist system. Bill Hicks maybe?

Mark Steel.
There's a number of British comedians that are leftists but he's the only one I can remember.

George Carlin was an anarchist who'd talk about class.

Yeah, most British comedians are at least left-leaning, but he's actually a revolutionary socialist and and a former member of the SWP. (I think he quit during that fuss with Lindsey German and John Rees, but I'm not sure.) I recommend digging up his "Mark Steel Lectures" series on YouTube if you get a chance. (I think most of them are on this playlist (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A22AF1FF261B34BE).)

That George Carlin video got me stumbling around Youtube, and I ended up coming across this:
Q95kX_EP2Nk
Which, while not exactly an explicit political message, seems to contain within it the "Idea of communism", if you're into that sort of thing. ;)

Not a big fan of George Carlin, he just did'nt do it for me, he was too political and I felt it took away from his humor.
The Origional American Humorist Mark Twain (they named the damn highest honor after him) was a big leftist.

Pretty sure he's down with the 'social-imperialist' line, though whether he starts counting at 1953 or 1956 escapes me at the moment..
