Iraq's communists roundly condemned on Wednesday the Iraqi government's decision to send troops to evacuate their party headquarters in Baghdad, warning that the aborted crackdown heralded "the beginning of a new dictatorship."
At a conference at the party HQ Iraqi Communist Party general secretary Hamid Majid Moussa said that the party "had no prior knowledge of the government's decision to evacuate the party's and al-Shaab newspaper's headquarters as it wasn't informed by the court or any other entity."
Mr Moussa charged that the military raid contravened "legal and constitutional norms," adding that the raid had been mounted due to the "great support rendered by our by party to the protest demonstrations demanding reform."
He condemned Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's administration for claiming that al-Qaida and the ousted Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party were behind the February 25 demonstrations, noting that the protests were a legitimate expression of the grievances of "our poor and needy people."

so far as i know, there is only one party with this name. its the one who works within the occupation regime.
the ones who joined the resistance against occupation, have other names like: cpi kader, cpi central command, marxis-leninis regroupment etc...

Seriously? That's a very black and white view of the world. You can fight the occupation without guns. Also, I've never heard of any of those groups, I don't know what their "great achievements" were in "forcing" the US out by military effort.
It is also ridiculous to celebrate Maliki of all people closing the CPIraq HQ for them "working with" the occupation.

Why are you belittling and mocking the red martyrs who died fighting against yankee imperialism in Iraq? How about showing respect for their effort? :)

I'm not belittling them, but the OP was belittling the CPIraq. Maybe they are great martyrs, the point is that violent struggle may have been justified, but it wasn't strategically significant, and their actions are no reason to insult the legal Communist party or cheer when their party hq is raided.
