Well actually I created these two threads over at modb about Feminism and Marxism which can be viewed here:
http://www.moddb.com/forum/thread/feminism1
http://www.moddb.com/forum/thread/marxist-theory
I found the feminist thread the most appalling read this...
You know i'm all for it but certain things make me wonder, Like why when i see an all girl band they're usually pathetic. Or why there's very little female coders compared to males. I think people are built differently for different things, I doubt we'll ever see a woman come along and play guitar like rusty cooley can. (Youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOcA2oW9DGU#t=0m45s)) Simply because we're built differently. Women have a bigger corpus callosum which means they can play piano better due to more right/left side of brain interaction. We're different and pretending we're the same is silly. Woman cannot do some things men can do and vice versa.
Also the insane reactionary feminist types kind of annoy me.
Agreed.
To put it simply, I shall say the following. If I allow a woman to live in my home, she'll have one of three choices. To take care of the household in a cooking and cleaning fashion and take care of whatever children may live there, bring in a certain amount of income, or let me have sex with her every other day. What kind of sex is up to her, but if it's oral it'll have to be daily (while I'm playing Halo, watching a film, or listening to music). Life's simple, there's no need to make it complicated. Is there anyway to properly respond to this stupid shit?
¿Que?

Haha, "If I allow a woman to live in my home etc etc" Something tells me that guy won't have to worry about that any time soon.

The only way to respond to such crap is to ridicule the poster..

It would be nice to see him react to a situation in which he is the one that has to be allowed to live in a woman's home. Which obligations would he recognize?
Something tells me that his list wouldn't change at all since he is, of course, a being of higher order than any woman :rolleyes:
Stupid misogynist shit.
There's no way to respond rationally to such idiocy.

Moddb isn't exactly the height of intelligent informed discussion. Not saying you shouldn't try enlightening people to their own misogynistic bullcrap, but it would much less painful if you just shut your face in a door. Most people just troll because they have no real responses, they just give you 'Make me a sandwich *****' because they think it's funny... i'm expected to put up with Nazi bullshit on the EF page
really u are an idot for not including em is it cause a coupla of u are ethin ic groupe U GROW UP the SS are badass u cannot deny the fact and guess what asshole I AM A MOTRHER FKINCG NAZI WHAYT U GUNNA DO ABOUT IT
Take Moddb for what it is... a place for discussing game modifications, nothing more. Same goes for plenty of other places around the net... I wouldn't expect informed discussion about Marxism anywhere other than here really (and even then...)

It's actually interesting how much more accepted sexism is than, say, racism on forums (and in real life, too, but we're talking about the net here). And I'm not just talking about the run-of-the-mill posters.
Often times forums will have rules that explicitly forbid even the most casual racism, and mods will act upon it, and even when they don't, people often berate the racist in droves. But if a poster were to say the woman's place is in the kitchen, people will laugh it off as a joke and no mod will likely take action.
This appears to be especially endemic to video game forums, as although statistically almost as many women nowadays play some kind of video games, what are commonly thought of as "hardcore" games (think the big budget console titles) are still mostly played by males, and consequently it is his kind of audience that game forums focus on.
Just the other day I saw a thread about an article pointing out the sexism of the lead developer of the ICO series. Apparently, he had once been asked why he does not use female leads in his games, and he answered by stating if the character were a girl, she would have to wear a skirt, which in a game based on running and jumping, would lead to players gawking at her bottom. Though some posters called this reason out for being sexist traditionalist bullshit, most were quick to call out the article and its defenders for "PC liberalism," coming out with excuses such as girls inherently being weaker and frailer in real life, and thus being less of an adequate protagonist for a fucking video game series (i.e. something NOT REAL) where the protagonists have been a young boy and a skinny, slender young man. Still others said even if his reasoning was bullshit, it's his creative direction and we have no right to question it.
I see this kind of thing happen all the time, and one wonders why girls rarely visit such forums, and when they do, why they are so apprehensive of letting their gender be known. Hell, it even happens here on Revleft. And it's funny because most of these internet tough guys are probably sad and lonely, but in a place with anonymity and a wide listening audience, it's very easy to paint yourself as an "alpha male" who puts women in their rightful place, makes them get him a sandwich, etc.

Honestly ever since I got into revleft and other similar forums I've mostly stayed away from other forums. Especially when you get on this end of political thought you find that you're in a whole different mode of thinking and perspective than many people.
For example in the gaming-oriented forum I was at before I was here, we generally had these types of users
-Run of the mill wingnut psuedo-populists
-Petit-bourgeois liberal types
-Your apolitical "independent" members but really right-wing types
-People with a hard-on for guns and war (and this lends to the first category of users more often than not)
I'm going to echo what BurroDiablo and GPDP said regarding game-oriented forum and the misogynist nonsense, or at least the "lolz go back to the kitchen" nonsense they think is funny.

The only other forum where I can tolerate anything that comes near political discussion is SomethingAwful.com

I hope this forum also takes action against sexism just like racism and if so (very most likely since this is a lefist foruim), this forum is way ahead of it's time.

I think we somehow need to make RevLeft a more inviting place for women by weeding out these problems somehow which hopefully other forums in the future will follow suit.
