What do people think of the Trade Union and Socialist Coalition? Right now they are planning on running in councils to oppose the LibDem cuts, but could you see them becoming a significant force left of labour?
My (very fuzzy) thinking was that now that the libdems have been consigned to the trash heap of history, many former supporters will be going to labour. The Libdems previously often got the protest vote and, at times, seemed left of labour (what a funny concept now). The inevitable implosion of the libdems means that there is more space for small protest parties (UKIP, etc.) to get the vote. With the cuts going through and jobs becoming increasingly precarious the trade unions could once a again, even if in a small measure, become popular as a source of stability.
Could the TUSC step in to collect disenfranchised Libdem voters as well as the Labor left, and maybe unite parties left of labour (SWP, RESPECT, etc.)? Well obviously a rhetorical question, but even if it could gather a level of votes similar to UKIP, it could at least put something left of Labor on the map.
