So i'm studying for my bible as literature class right now and I just found something very interesting.
Unfortunately in Leviticus 18:23 it pretty clearly condemns homosexuality. But less than a page later in 19:13 it says "You shall not defraud your neighbor; you shall not steal; and you shall not keep for yourself the wages of a laborer until morning." (emphasis my own)
So apparently the fact that I get a pay check every two weeks is a sin against god by my boss.

Christians pick and choose what to follow and what not to follow from the Bible, film at 11.

It is a consistent pattern of behavior that the Catholic church, like many religious institutions, digs in it's heels and has to be dragged kicking and screaming into modernity. Usury was condemned by the Catholic church, and prohibited throughout Christendom for hundreds of years. However, for fairly obvious reasons, these policies had to be changed. There simply was no choice. Just like the heliocentric model of the universe, the church fought it until it couldn't, anymore. Similarly, we can expect the church to fulminate against homosexuals until the day comes when they simply can't get away with it any longer, and not a day sooner.

It's kinda ironic that the fundamentalists in this country are the ones promoting complete social darwinism. But the right is always like Jekyll and Hyde, witness the change in dialogue between the early noughties and now:

Christians, especially the radical right, sing from the hymn sheet of 'All Things Bright and Beautiful':
"The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
God made them high and lowly,
And ordered their estate"
.....contrary to the teachings and message from Jesus ???
