Happy 8th of March!

International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.

Hopefully there will be great demonstrations for womens rights all over the world.

There's one in Stockholm in a few hours, which I'm attending. :)

I hate the fact that we even need a fucking day to remember that and remind people of it....as if it should not be a logical and natural given....

Anyways...seeing as to how we still have not achieved to overthrow sexism and have not reached complete gender equality....we have to make due with what we have and continue the fight.

Happy womens day everybody!

I hate it when people say "Oh, why don't we have an international man's day", and are clueless that it DOES exist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Men%27s_Day). But, of course, women have struggled a lot more than men to get to their positions now (at least, in the west).

Men have 364 days.

And it's very annoying that this day is still necessary since the last 100 years.

Ironically Women's Day falls on the same day (Fat Tuesday) where women are expected to show they bare chests to get Mardi Gras beads thrown to them from a carnival float.
