Already have a thread on this. But yeah, I'm skeptical this game will be worthwhile.

Oblivion was such a huge disappointment I doubt I'll pick this one up unless I get it for radically reduced price (read:free).

I used to until I moved in with some friends.

My friend's name is on the cable bill, so if anyone gets busted for file sharing, it'll be him and I'd rather not hang him up like that for the sake of free games.

There are ways to get free games that doesn't rely on torrents. You can always find direct download links on certain web forums. You can also search for dd on filestube. We should probably stop talking about this though as I believe it violates site rules to discuss such activities.

Oblivion was a disappointment to you? I mean it wasn't Morrowind but it was still a damn good game!

The scaled leveling system nearly killed the game for me. When I got to higher levels, it completely broke the game because I had bandits jumping out at me with glass and Daedric(sp?) weapons. I hocked them for piles of money and bought anything I wanted.

You also never really felt like you were getting any BETTER. Enemies that sucked to fight at level one still sucked at level 20.

The dialogue assignment tended to fracture the experience as well. Hearing the same thing out of six different NPCs was a little disorienting.

The combat system was more fluid and that was nice, but it was the scaled enemies and leveling system that almost completely blew the game for me.

It felt like they tried for this grandiose final product but spent too much time dicking around with small things and neglecting a lot of the important things.

There definitely were a couple awesome quests. The main quest-line bored me though. xP

It did, and expanding on things like guild quests was really cool, but the apex of most of those quests sucked and there were fairly few side quests compared to Morrowind.

The guild quests were interesting but again, once you finished them, there was no real great reward. The Assassin's Guild especially, you actually got chores once you were the guildmaster and no real benefit.

One thing i liked in Morrowind that wasn't in Oblivion and i seriousry doubt will be in Skyrim was how the main story line wasn't just ACTION ACTION ACTION , you had to walk around and talk to people and uncover the story line not just kills tons of people. Also i hope playing a thief is more like it was in Morrowind. in Morrowind you could rob the great house vaults and get shit loads of awesome stuff like armor and weapons in Oblivion you could rob Castles and get.........silverware that you could only sell to a thief's guild fence , because some poor shop keeper in Bravil knows a spoon that was stolen from the castle in Bruma when he sees one. In the video it showed a character slitting a guy's throat and while i hope you will be able to do this to any character you sneak up behind , i have a bad feeling it going to a one time thing during a assasin's guild quest. i think the idea your character will now steady its self to keep from falling off a cliff is a interesting bit a realism but on the list of things i want to help make the game feel more realistic its towards the bottom , while i highly doubt things at the top of my list like adding a need to sleep beyond just for leveling ,making it so you can't (or at least very hard to) swim in full heavy armor , or having the guards treat you differently after you have been arested for the 30th time will be added. Also i hope the structure of the thief's guild is a lot less rigid then it was in Oblivion and even morrowind. it should be when you arrive in a new town you have to ask around for a bit and uncover the local guild and once you have done enough quests for the local guilds you are let in on the main guild.

Okay, that is definitely the funniest thing about Oblivion; highwaymen clad in otherworldly armor.

You know I'm such a cheap bastard that when I cleared out dungeons full of that high value loot, I'd gather it all up and then make multiple trips to sell it. lol

Which, to be fair, shows that they're on the same wavelength as a lot of their intended audience. ;)

Yeah, this is why on the modding scene scaled leveling mods became very popular. OOO was one of the first ones to address this and many more followed.

AFAIK they said they plan on using a leveling system similar to what they had in Fallout NV and Fallout 3 which IMO were no where near as screwy as what the one in Oblivion had.

Though to be honest when I played Morrowind I used a lot of mods. Honestly it seems Beth just gives people a cake with nothing on it and the community fills in the rest. I liked Morrowind and Oblivion, more so once the mods started pouring out. Probably'll be the same with Skyrim and why I'll get it on the computer for that. Though all in all I'm fairly easy to please when it comes to gaming (then again, I don't usually by games at release either... typically wait for a price drop. Don't have as much time for them anymore..

Well just so you all know from the research I've done on this game the are taking a lot of things from what they did with Morrowind for this one.
