I saw that somewhere in the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx proposed an idea saying that we should outlaw/ban "The handing down of items, and possessions."

Is this true? What is your opinion on this?

Inheritance allows for accumulation of capital within small groups of people, furthering the economic divide. If we ever want to provide real economic equality, inheritance needs to be ended and currency can't be allowed to accumulate in the hands of the few.

I doubt it. Keep in mind Karl Marx spoke German in the 19th century. I believe the User above you nailed it.

Family items, such as, say, a book of some sort, is not capital, therefore should be allowed to be handed down.

He is talking about the means of production, land and inherited wealth, not personal possessions (unless they are diamond tiaras and luxury yachts, etc.).

There is little to inherit after communism is a achieved but personal property. Private property is the real issue Marx is referring to and I think he is making the point it should be banned during the transitionary socialist state as that will be the point in time when private property is gradually abolished.

^^^And by 'private property' he didn't mean things like your shoes or your tooth brush.

In a capitalist society means of production and land are personal possessions.

Inherited wealth is one of the key ways in which wealth is locked away in families and held apart from the social good.

Yes, but they are not at all comparable to things like your TV or your coat.
